Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

It wouldn't be as terrible as it is if it would actually go between modes when you click the shuffle button instead of waiting for it connect and generate songs I don't care about in my playlist; I hate having to go through several times because I clicked the shuffle button before it was finished generating more crappy songs for my playlist.

That’s so sad you have to tell people that because Spotify policy is to take all these steps when it’s a bigger problem than they have seem to realize. It needs revision, and I understand some phones may be older, I’m on an iPhone 14 pro though with wifi, and it is stuck so much so I force quit the app multiple times THEN it was back to normal. 

It’s important to take into consideration how many other older people or those who didn’t find this forum, didn’t have any say for these said statistics they want provided.

Also being there is the “go to radio” with every category, year, album and genre — the need to smart shuffle is now a feature slowing the platform. Slowing the people traveling with little service or others whose phone may be 2-5 years old. It shouldn’t be to blame by brand. My phone is fine, it’s Spotify freezing. Please please forward this this up with or without a video recording. Not everyone has a second device. One may also not have screen recording available as not all older phones are fully cycled and obsolete yet. 

I recorded a video to attach but file type isn’t supported from screen recording so 🤷🏻‍♂️

we don't want smart shuffle, it's not that it's giving genuine problems for most people it's just a genuine nuisance and it's annoying that we have to tap through it every time we want to not have our playlist shuffled, like oh you want to listen to your music lets add some random stuff (that is the same song as what was already in your playlists because it's 60 hours so im just repeating stuff) so that you have to turn off this annoying feature to turn off shuffle

Oh, but it only works until you close the app, so you have to do this every time if you want to keep the normal shuffle feature.

Spotify, Smart Shuffle just took 12 seconds to apply. 12 SECONDS ON FULL 5G. The app is getting unusable - get rid of this trash

Please!! I was just in a chat session about this and the agent seemed to have no idea what I was talking about and asked for a screenshot… of the shuffle button. Their only suggestion was to just tap the shuffle button once…

Just get rid of it. No other app in the world is so rabidly obsessed with implementing unnecessary changes that are disliked by the whole community and then ignoring the feedback. Same with the only 4 pins**bleep**.
