[Mobile] [Other] Smart Shuffle toggle setting in settings menu

Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

The fact that this have to be a suggestion from the community...

This is just as stupid as the whole debacle when Spotify released and the program continued to run in the background when closed by default.

Introduce new feaures! But do not replace fundemental functions with new features and no way to opt out.

Why does Smart shuffle still exist? It gets in the way, if I want other music I'll add it myself, that is the idea of a playlist.. its my play list, not my play list and some other random additions. For the love of all that is holy please fix this with a setting toggle. its all of about 30 seconds of code work to add...

Smart shuffle **bleep**ing sucks. It turns on automatically even though i have only ever used regular shuffle on my playlist. Ive had several times where it was either use smart shuffle or no shuffle which is **bleep**ing crazy that would ever be a thing. Also when i go to press shuffle to turn it on when it is off, do not show me smart shuffle first, that is **bleep**ing stupid. Either give us an option to completely disable it, or just remove this**bleep** system from your app

I loved Enhance and Create Similar Playlist for music discovery

I still love Release Radar and Discover Weekly (not perfect, but please don't touch them...)

I ABHOR the Smart Shuffle "feature". You might as well have just made it a double tap to shuffle because that's what everyone is doing.

This is your last chance from me and many more that won't take the time to make an account. Stop f*cking with the way we use your app. The dumb robot voice for carplay was horrendous enough (and thank you for reverting). It's painfully obvious that whoever is coming up with these "features" needs something more productive to do.

Choices…

i want to listen to the music in my playlist that I CHOSE on shuffle. not smart shuffle. never smart shuffle. i don't like it when the smart shuffle turns itself on. the repeat playlist is there for a reason, and that reason is not recommending me music i don't want to listen to.

"Smart" Shuffle is not related to shuffle in any way, other than containing the word "shuffle".

The two functions are completely different and are not related. For Spotify to take the irrevocable decision to make "Smart" Shuffle (playfully called Sh1te Shuffle in my house) the default, primary action when pressing the shuffle button is nothing short of utter lunacy.

Do the right thing and separate these two functions out again. They are not linked. They are not the same. One is not synonymous with the other. Stop forcing users to use features that don't get used because they're terrible, to try to validate sloppy plans to shareholders or board members who want to know what you've wasted billions on.

Let me disable Smart Shuffle or I will be changing over to Tidal permanently. It's not even good, it keeps dropping horrible **bleep** into my queue

So there is that new addition to Spotify: smart shuffle.

It is nice and all but the way to start it is the same button as the normal shuffle and since the icon is really similar, I often start smart shuffle without wanting it.

Really simple solution would be to add a On/Off switch in the option menu to enable or disable the possibility to use smart shuffle.

UI/UX solution would be to add a different button than the shuffle one to activate smart shuffle on the music player (and modify the icon so we can really tell them apart).

As a software developer, I have to say that Spotify does not seem to have caught up with the modern world of software development that includes frequent iterations and listening to user feedback properly. Also they seem to implement and roll out ideas without validating their acceptance first. Absolutely ridiculous, especially considering their subscription price.
