[Mobile] Remove current Song from Playlist

Hi

This is a usability improvement for the Mobile devices. Sometimes I want to remove songs from a playlist. This is currently quite a long task to perform on the mobile device.

  1. I first have to select the right playlist.
  2. Then I have to locate the song, which is not listed alphabetically. They are listed in the order I built the playlist with the oldest first and newest last. Some of my playlists have up to 900 songs in them and scrolling slowly can be difficult and timeconsuming.
  3. Then click on the "pencil" icon and  delete the track I don't want.

I think it would be a better user experience if we could delete songs as easy as it is to add them to a playlist.

So here's a suggestion for the mobile app, look there's even a space for it on the info page! Smiley LOL

Spotify Delete Track Idea

UPDATE 3 June 2017

I have been contacted by user eviljojo22 who has developed a Plugin that creates a playlist named "Remove from Spotify" and every 45 minutes minutes it deletes every song in it and also in every playlist in which that same song appears (which may not be what you want). However, this is an option that may help you before Spotify gets round to providing this very simple function. Good luck (and Thank you EvilJojo22)

I have been contacted by user bamboony who has developed an android app that might solve the problem in the short term:

Hi folks,

We're setting this idea to Implemented as this is now possible from the Now Playing View!

To remove the currently playing song from a playlist, tap on the green checkmark icon ✔️, then untick the one you'd like to remove it from. Check out the screenshots below for more info:

Would really like to have this for my Android phone as building personal playlists is arduous, susually starts with a large collection of songs that need to be sorted. It would be fantastic to be able to remove songs from the playlist that I am currently using. I think it was available for a while but I do not see it now. Perhaps a "remove song from this playlist" rather than "remove song from a playlist" which pulls up all playlists and lets you pick.

This is still missing (or now missing) in Android.  Songs may be removed if you hunt them down in the playlist, but cannot be removed in the 'Now Playing' list.  This is especially annoying when using the shuffle play-mode.  Such a simple thing to add this to list of options under the elipsis; I've no idea why it's not there.  Not happy  >:|

It is worse though. I was listening to a playlist and went to a track that was later in the playlist and removed it but it go played anyway.

Seems that Spotify is not Playing Playlist X but has simply made a Play Queue from what was in Playlist X at the time I started playing.

This would be great!

This is the only reason I'm not a paying customer (yet).

I like adding albums to a playlist with the view that I will remove individual songs as I listen to them. The big draw card for Premium (for me) is being able to download a playlist, but clearly I wouldn't want to clog it with unwanted songs which are only removed once I listen to them, so until I can remove them at the time of listen (Play Queue), I won't even consider trialling Premium.  (This goes for both Windows 10 Desktop and Android mobile in my case.)

(I know I'm being silly, but that's kinda how I am when it comes to customer service...)

Holy **bleep**, this should take a developer 10 minutes to implement. Add "Remove from current playlist" and "Remove from all playlists", and it's done.

I have no clue why they refuse to do this but it must somehow be about
money. Maybe fewer songs on playlists is less impressive to the labels? I
dunno but it's so frustrating.

Can't do anything about it, except vote for their app in the app store reflecting my opinion about this.
