[Music] Stop Playback after a Track

I hate to stop the music in the middle of a track, so i would love some way to make Spotify stop playback after the current track.

Right now I can simulate the desired behaviour by right-clicking an empty playlist, (that i have created for this purpose only) and selecting "Choose as Current Playlist" and making sure that the play queue is empty. While this is a nice workaround, I think that it would make sense to include a real "Stop Playback After Current Track"-function in Spotify.

Update (2015-02-01):

The previously suggested workaround doesn't even work any more as Rapti has pointed out in a comment. At one point it could even make Spotify crash completely.

I would like to point out that a saner, more flexible queuing system could allow even finer control over when to stop playing. Thus people who like this idea might also like:

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

We're happy to announce that this function is now available on mobile devices via the Sleep Timer feature. It can be activated through the moon icon directly in the Now Playing View of podcasts, or through the three dot menu in the Now Playing view of songs.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

Ive been following thsi topic for over a year now. They clearly don't want to implement the very obvious and simple feature to play just one song because forcing the music to continue artifically pumps up the number of songs played. They don't care about what their actual customers want. So frustrating. Does Apple Music also force extra songs down our throat? If not, I might just switch.

I miss this feature since i began using Spotify. Love it in my foobar player.
I don't really understand how it's that hard to include such a feature. How many lines of code does that need? Maybe 50? An halfway good programmer could implement that in an eyes blink i guess.

Sometimes I want to listen to a guided meditation track to help me sleep. I don't want to hear anything after that and I don't want music playing all night. By adding a simply option (on the repeat button) that says 1-| (or something) you could solve this problem. Many people want this but don't take the time to tell you.  Thanks.

Yes please! I'd like to give some kudos to this. Winamp used to have this lovely feature, and I miss it daily.

As for how this would work on the interface, I think it would be nice to have a press and hold the pause button to stop after the song ends.

+1 it would make for an okay podcast player then

This would improve the Spotify playback experience substantially for me. I registered with Community just to post this.

If Spotify cares about user experience, they should emplement this feature... this topic is years old. Playback > Stop After Current Track is something I've always liked about the music player Foobar2000. It doesn't have to be the default... I realize it probably benefits Spotify and the artists to have music keep playing without any action from the user, but I would find it especially useful for podcasts or if I just want to finish listening to a song before I have to turn off Spotify.

If this does not get implemented by the end of the month I'm quitting my membership

I use Spotify to listen to a track of music or meditation while falling asleep. That would be great to be able to play only one song. When I use a Spotify connect hifi I just set a sleep timer on the device, but from my mobile app I don't know how to do it. Now I make a playlist with one song and play that list. Definitely an extra job to do when listening to various tracks. Any idea, or a feature to develop?
