Sort and filter tracks inside a playlist (iOS)

Previously, community member @ kelvin0mql submitted the idea for an improved search feature on mobile.

While we're happy to announce the we've imlemented the ability to search tracks you've already synced on the Android platform, we haven't quite implemented the feature for iOS.

I would also like to stop my thumb from hating me by having to scroll to the bottom of playlists to get my latest songs.

The one criticism I have of the iOS app is that I can't sort my grouped playlists. I didn't even realise I couldn't sort playlists at all.

So, my point is, when you do implement the playlist sorting, I hope that this is also available for grouped playlists too.

I wonder why the iphone app does not have the feture to invert the playlist so that I can listen to the last added music first, instead I have to schroll down to the bottom of the list and play the last track added and then it starts over att the top of the playlist.

In the end I have to listen to the first track in the playlist over and over agian. Instead I wold like to sort the playlist in the iphone by last added like I can do in the iOS version.

Same thoughts here! It's emberassing for a company like spotify to let users manually sort thier playlist and ignore this elemental feature! Oh and by the way: Which user will sort a playlist with >100 entries on thier iOS mobile? 😄

I absolutely can't stress how much I want this feature to be added.

I'm a newer user to the Spotify iOS mobile app, but have been a paid Spotify member for years.

I continually add music to my 'big' playlist - which now totals over 523 tracks. When I open up the mobile app - if I want to play specific songs from this playlist, I have to scroll all of the way to the bottom of the list. This seems very counter-intuitive to me, and I've always had this issue with the Spotify desktop player as well (why do you have to keep clicking on 'Added' to re-sort your playlist every time you re-open the program?)

When I jump in my car, I want to just open Spotify, click on my playlist and tap on the top, most recently added song. I just feel like an idiot waving my fingers up and down the screen for 10 seconds trying to reach the bottom.

I implore the developers to put serious consideration into adding some form of basic sorting into the app. And not only that, to do it in such a way that doesn't require you to re-sort each time you open the app again.

I love Spotify, but this missing fundamental behaviour is frustrating and irritiating. All other music apps I've used have this functionality - why is Spotify lagging behind?

Doesn't even seem like devs follow this anymore. But a bump anyway, to get more kudos. Why does my Android device have this, while my iOS device doesn't?

Completely ridiculous that there is no way to sort on the iPhone other than to manually do it yourself.  Complete incompetence on the part of Spotify.

Come on Spotify... This is beyond annoying. I'm a software developer, send me legal docs- I'll sign them, give me access to your source code, and a couple beers, and I'll add the sort feature for crying out loud. Concerned about space for all users stored settings? Make it on the fly-- whatever. Just give us something to take away the monotony of flipping through songs... Thx.

I bet the new Streaming Service from Apple / Beats by Dre will allow for sorting playlists by Artist....

Come on Spotify.  Do it!  This would be an especially invaluable tool when you are looking to edit your playlist from your mobile device

I found this screenshot online earlier. It's a bit ugly but it demonstrates how an 'Offline' sorting field would be very benefial to mobile listeners using the Spotify App in the car for instance. If this doesn't get added I will seriously consider trialing Google Play. I have hundreds of albums in 'My Music' (took me a while to get these all saved over from Playlists as I had to do this manually by visiting each album and clicking the Save button), so it's difficult to find a playable album when I'm on the move. Currently it's easier just to save an album as a Playlist and then group these together in an 'Available Offline' album. But this is all very manual and really should have been considered in the design already.

Pretty great service. Pretty happy. Could be happier 🙂
