Subscribe to Artists

I know for a fact that myself and a lot of people I know would love a feature that lets you subscribe to an artist or a group, immediately letting one know when a new album/track has been released.

 

We're happy to announce that you are able now to follow artists in Spotify!

Just go to an artist's page in Spotify and click "follow" under the artists name at the top of the page. You'll receive a notification update in Spotify when tracks are added to the artists profile.

I need this badly!  Having to search for my artists' new releases is not friendly.  It'd be great to have Spotify know the artists in my collections and then inform me when they have new releases.  I guess for now FreshSpotify will do.

Please Spotify team, create an application on Spotify that could alert or show in a list all new tracks of the artists we like and we decided to follow! As we follow people on Tumblr by the dashboard or friends by the wall in Facebook...

I am trying out some of the community tools for this, but really I just want a [subscribe] button on the artist page... and then I want "new" things to magically appear in my spotify inbox after that date.  Or spit me an email, either would be much improved.

Artist Subscriptions would be a very useful and simple feature for Spotify to add.  On an artist page, it would be great to have the option to "Subscribe" to that artist and whenever they release anything new, it shows up either in a "Subscribed Artists" playlist, we would get a notification in our inbox, or a simple email is sent telling us that there is new music available.  This would be a great feature that many people would appreciate and love.  I hope we can see it soon!

A button to the artist's facebook page is really needed!

 

I hope the next step for Spotify is the artists, after the users!

Following or subscribing to an artist with some type of notification is a great idea; thanks to the originator.

 

+1 in the vain hope it might get bumped up the dev list.

 

I like the way that Soundcloud manages this feature.

 

Still not sure about the whole facebook tie up, but I could see some option that if you like an artist in fb, you get notified in spotify, maybe...
