Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

Тhis has been one of our most upvoted ideas and we've known it's something that our users would really like to see come true.
We're happy to announce that this feature will now become available for the Apple Watch Series 3 or later.

It will be gradually rolled out, so it might take a bit until everybody has access to it.  That being said, we'd like to let you know that the roll-out rate has increased a lot in the last weeks, so if you haven't received the feature in the past, try reinstalling the app on your watch again and there's a big chance you'll get Offline listening now.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better and voting to make this happen, here on the Community.

Good news!

Spotify now supports downloads on Apple Watch. This will be rolling out over the next several weeks.

So they ignore users for several years, and now they have implemented it and Spotify is a hero? It is great that we can listen to music offline on our Apple watches. But remember that they only did this for their selves because Deezer implemented this too, en they where afraid to lose customers.

That‘s how business works. Sometimes you react to customer wishes and check if you can make money out of realizing that demand. Sometimes you react to competition. Sometimes you don‘t react at all.

and the customer decides.

Finally! Great news!

I can’t but think this is connected to Apple Music getting free HiFi music. They had to do something to keep us happy and this is it, at least for me. I was finally on the point of accepting that I’d have to give up Spotify. Glad this is happening. Hope to be able to make use of it a.s.a.p. (it doesn’t seem to be enabled for me at the moment).

Offline means to use wifi and cellular on watch? Really Spotify? **bleep** what a joke!!!

michanbg

What do you mean? The message clearly says „download to Apple Watch“

Gregoire1970

@loydcoyl No it does not. They’re rolling out true offline listening, i.e. without WiFi or cellular or phone nearby. Should be available for everyone with a premium account over the next few weeks.

Love the feature, but I thought I would be able to press som three dots "..." on my Apple Watch to download a song offline and use later when outside of WiFi and LTE coverage. Now I understand that I have to go via the phone to accomplish this (this was not very clear on your instructions). Please update the AW Spotify app so that I can tag songs directly on the watch itself to save offline. Otherwise thanks for the work and passion you put into making Spoitfy great (again)!

As Tidal now also launched an AppleWatch App, bye Apple Music and bye Spotify 😉

Glad to see that Spotify finally implemented this feature. Unfortunately, they lost me as a customer a long time ago due to the silence on this feature. Had I been made aware that this feature was actually in development, rather than the corporate silence, maybe I would have held off. Since I have a family plan it will be too much of a pain to switch back to Spotify at this point. I would highly recommend to Spotify that they begin communicating with their customers and treating them with respect rather than years of silence, that would have a gone a long way to hold onto customers that had been asking for this feature.
