Add "Play next" Button like YouTube Music Has

My idea correlates with my idea to fix the queue, which you can see here. I would like to see a "Play next" button above the "Add to Queue" button. The "Play next" button would do what the "Add to Queue" button currently does, which is add songs, playlists, and albums directly after what you currently have playing (or paused). The "Add to Queue" button is meant to add things to the end. In order to fix the queue, we need to add this feature. Spotify, you're behind.

Here's how it is, in YouTube Music.

It should work that way (except for showing the currently playing song in the queue, as if it's playing again).

It's a nice Idea... But I guess YouTube Music did it worse. To have extra buttons is a real mess on the long run. In my opinion, the way Spotify has it that is search for a song title and swiping on it (left to right) is far more effortless and cleaner way to do it rather than having to go through menus and lists.

MadmanOnWheels

I'm not sure what you're referring to, about the swiping on a song title. And "Play next" isn't a feature, right. Okay. I did just go to a song, to try what you mentioned. I swiped right, and it added it to the queue. It does nothing, when swiping to the right. Maybe that could be an option, but "Add to Queue" is also in the menu, so "Play next" should be there, too. I wasn't meaning that it should be a button, like in YouTube Music; I just meant that it should be added as a feature, in the menu, the same way that other options (in Spotify) look. I don't know that I like or dislike the way that YouTube Music has the big buttons at the top. At least, "Add to Queue" could've been next to "Save to playlist", which seem like the most logical buttons to me. I just want the feature to be added, along with the queue to be fixed, so I won't unnecessarily need to move songs into the correct order. I hope that clears it up.

I would really appreciate it, if you would vote for this and the "Fix The Queue" idea, which there's a link to in the post.

If I want to add a song to queue, it’s likely that I want it to play sooner rather than later—potentially even have it be the next song I listen to, not at the bottom of the list. Why this isn’t already a feature is wild. Please add it, Spotify!

I think i understand what you meant by "play next". You want the song to play immediately after the song currently playing instead of playing it at the last of the list, right?

Well in that case, I can support you, for I don't mind if Spotify does add this option. To be honest, I never really thought of playing the song directly next to the current song, because I preferred building a temporary playlist kind of thing using the queue option.

Thinking of it now though, I did had to face the same issue of waiting for a song to complete before I started a new song (manually played next). Having a special option to do so automatically will save time instead of me adding the song to the queue and then rearranging it to the top.

I'll support you for this. 😊

Nice idea, but I think it would clutter the interface a little bit. Add to queue only functions as a play next if you have not added anything else to your queue. Once you queue a song, subsequent queue's will move to the end of the queue. I think this works nicely and works well when building a nice flow on the fly. Songs can always be arranged in the queue.

MadmanOnWheels

No. It won't clutter the interface; it would go above or below "Add to Queue" in the options that you have to press or click the 3 dots to get to. You completely missed the point, and I want the option to add song for playing next instead of just going to the end of the list. And right now, you can't even add songs, albums, or playlists to queues, without having started a song, album, or playlist first. That's why you should've read my idea about fixing the queue that there's a link to, in this post, as well as my idea about building a pre-queue/setlist, so you can set what you want to listen to up a head of time, and without having to make it into a playlist that you'll never listen to again, since it's just for that time. It doesn't hurt to add these features, but not  having them does make it harder on us, so I hope you'll get what I mean. And I'd appreciate it, if you'd check out my other ideas, and vote for all of them.
