Add video on casted TV device for podcasts casted via Chromecast/Roku etc.

Podcasts that currently have video available on your mobile or desktop device, lose the video feature once you cast it to a TV via Chromecast. This is a major surprise as this is a frequent way of watching video podcasts on TV. Please consider casting the video part of the podcast along with the audio on casted devices.

We're happy to announce that this feature is now available on multiple big screen devices, such as Chromecast and Roku (Roku TVs with firmware 8.2/ Roku Set top Boxes with firmware 9.0).

I agree. The casting issue seems like a deliberate block by Spotify (or a
bug). However, given the fact that their Roku and Amazon Firestick app
doesn't show video either, it would seem this is all deliberate. With so
many people watching their podcasts on their smart TVs, why is Spotify
preventing watching video on this platform?

Sounds to me like greedy Spotify may be waiting on this deliberately because they’re looking for a company like Amazon or Google to pay them back for what they paid Rogan, by offering Spotify an exclusive partnership where Spotify allows video, but only on fire stick, only chrome cast etc. because Spotify will probably be paid to funnel us paying customers into purchasing new hardware (like a stupid fire stick) and wasting our money when we have a perfectly good Xbox connected to our tv already. I smell greed... I hope I’m wrong on this theory!

This feature was not even a question on youtube, this is sad. Rogan should've really thought out this contract. He's loosing a key feature.....

If this is about money spotify pay google. I will not be using my PAID FOR spotify account to view the most popular podcast in the world. Have to go to a free site YOUTUBE just to be able to watch this on my TV. like I have for YEARS. This needs to be brought to rogans production staff attention. They should not remove the podcast from youtube until this is resolved.

Please add the support for video for other devices than mobile and desktop.  I enjoy using my spotify app via my LG C9 tv and insist the video be available as well. Thank you for your continued support.  Cheers and BR, Scott

How many million people watch the Joe Rogan VIDEO on TV and THIS COMPANY IS NOT READY with their apps.

 

I will send Joe Rogan a screenshot of this thread under one of his twitter tweets , if the video doesn't work soon.

 

"No video on fire tv , google chome , playstation & xbox apps"
