[Ads] Ads Filter

I know we can't pick and choose what ads to see, but at least for a teensy bit of decency (especially for people listening to spotify in a professional work environment) can we not have half naked Victoria's Secret super sexy models?

Personally, I could care less about ads. And in fact, I am a woman who shops at Victoria's Secret. Still- I just had an awkward moment with some coworkers AND my boss. I'd like very much for that not to happen again. In the very least, how about an image that isn't half the size of the window?

I know no one's going to agree, and believe me, I'd be the last person to complain about spotify (it's awesome). But seriously, it's a bit much.

Thanks.

Agreed- ads are necessary and appropriate. But content? Seriously. If not gone soon, I'm gone instead. I won't reward you with premium money.

I teach high school, and I love to use Spotify to play music for my students. However, these ads are not appropriate for my classroom and are forcing me to stop using Spotify. Please allow us to filter the ads like so many other people have already suggested.

I am horrified with these new ads. I don't want to see ads about drinking, condoms, or victoria's secret. I have a deep-seated disdain for these types of ads. Something needs to change, or you will have one user who will never purchase your product. I have considered a subscription before, but not if this is the way your users are treated. If you have these kinds of scruples about free users, what makes me think you will treat paid users any better? How long will it be before you begin to alienate even your paid users?

EDIT: As an additional note, I thought of your company as a pretty cool company when I first started, and have recommended your product to many people. However, I can't with a clear conscience continue to recommend your product to my friends, family, customers and co-workers if this practice continues. If it does continue, my love for your company and product will turn to hate instead.

Don't get me wrong. I don't automatically think that my own opinion is worth enough to cause your company to gain/lose business. I do, however, see that many people have the same opinion as I do. The collective choice of many users to avoid and dissuade others from using your product can cause you to lose business.

This is my PERSONAL ultimatum. Fix this or I will do everything in my power to keep others from using your product.

I agree. A feedback system on the ads would be great! I'm tired of the nsfw ads playing all the time. Or the loud, disturbing ads playing in the middle of quiet playlists. It would be great if they could improve on the way ads were delivered to their customers.

I enjoy Spotify very much, but I can't have it open around my younger siblings for fear that Durex ad will come on again and I have to explain to a ten year old that there's more to sex than just sex, a topic we're still working on talking to him about. If this issue isn't taken seriously by Spotify, I won't be able to keep the program and it'll be back to Pandora with me for a while.

Get spotify premium 😛

Makhaon

We do not want Spotify Premium. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ads are not the problem. The content of the ads is the problem. Target ads and ad swap would go a long way for Spotify.

I know there are similar posts about this, but I didn't find any specifically suggesting that it may be a good idea to allow Spotify Free users to opt-out of Adult oriented ads.  I'm happy to have advertisements play to support a service that I get to use for free; however, it would be nice to be able to let Spotify know that I play this music around my children and would prefer not to have the word "sex" playing in a condom ad or have ads about alcohol playing.

This wouldn't only satisfy me as the user, but it would also help the Advertisers, as anyone (including myself) would be more likely to click on ads and listen more often (by not having to worry about kids being around) if the ads playing were more relevant to the user and not inappropriate for children to hear.

PLEASE make it possible to check a FAMILY FRIENDLY advirtisements only box to avoid embaracing and offensive ads!!! I will consider NOT using Spotify any longer if this option doesn't become available soon. It creates bad/awkward situations to have an ad for explicit adult material come on when children are present. PLEASE FIX this problem!

YES! I have been very upset by the adverts of late. I'd like to fix this ASAP!
