[Ads] Ads Filter

I know we can't pick and choose what ads to see, but at least for a teensy bit of decency (especially for people listening to spotify in a professional work environment) can we not have half naked Victoria's Secret super sexy models?

Personally, I could care less about ads. And in fact, I am a woman who shops at Victoria's Secret. Still- I just had an awkward moment with some coworkers AND my boss. I'd like very much for that not to happen again. In the very least, how about an image that isn't half the size of the window?

I know no one's going to agree, and believe me, I'd be the last person to complain about spotify (it's awesome). But seriously, it's a bit much.

Thanks.

Even a "see less of this specific ad" would be helpful; I'm quite miffed at just a couple ads that keep showing up.

I completely agree with this idea.  I keep getting trojan condom ads, and thats just not a thing I am into.  I just would appreciate that to be stripped from my ad experience.

It is concerning that this has been on the ideas tab for 9 YEARS now and still nothing approaching an implementation. I wanted to add my 2c which is that we should also be able to block gambling (especially sports gambling) and alcohol adverts because some people might have trouble dealing with these adverts due to addiction.

I get at least 1 Gambling advert PER AD BREAK and frankly its disgusting.

Exactly! The phone app at least has the ability to give a thumbs up or
thumbs down to ads while they are playing. The desktop app does not. But
even with that ability on the phone app, choosing the thumbs down multiple
times on the same ad and giving various excuses for why I don't like it
doesn't appear to make much of a difference. Sometimes it seems that the ad
plays even more after clicking the thumbs down.
So, I'm fed up with Spotify. Thanks for not listening. I'm getting rid of
your app and moving on to something else.

Give users the option to not have a specific ad play again. I often listen to music to fall asleep and it is alarming to get a horror movie ad at 2am. I get I'm not a premium, paying customer, but I still hate listening to them at night. Literally any other ad would be preferred. There's only so many times I can hear creepy voices when I'm trying to listen to a relaxing playlist.

Hi,

I absolutely agree with this suggestion. I'm not averse to explicit/adult material but I'm a recovering alcoholic and I seem to get alcohol ads ALL the time, which can be triggering if I'm not in a good place. I can't afford to upgrade my account and am fine with most of the ad content, but it would potentially be a lifesaver if I could stop ads about alcohol.

Being able to opt out of ads that are harmful to our health should be a priority for Spotify. Plenty of social media companies now have an option where the consumer can take responsibility for their health, opting out of ads for alcohol and gambling.

This is a really serious issue and should not be ignored. Addiction is a real problem that affects many people, and small things like this can make all the difference to someone's recovery.

I think I might start to make more noise about this if it doesn't change soon.

Pretty sure everyone who wishes to has learned all the could possibly desire about COVID-19. Stop ramming it down our throats.

Anything to give USERS more control is welcome.

Spotify as a company does not seem to understand that.

Spot1FiIsBroken

Those of us who pay for PREMIUM pay for an "AD FREE" experience.

Sexually explicit content and political propaganda on the home page is ADS.

I really hate whoever decided this podcast bait and switch was a good idea.

Spotify for me and many others is ONLY a MUSIC app.

We are being scammed.

So agree with this idea. I was annoyed by Shopee and Lazada ads. They change some familiar songs' lyrics into advertising lines, singing loud and hype. Every time the ad cuts in, it just humiliated my whole playlist and break the mood I set up for myself. Just want a less aggressive ad pls.
