Ai generated content should be labeled.

For one, Every song on this platform ai generated needs to be labeled as ai so people aren’t paying for a ai generated celebrity unbeknownst to them. people wanna pay for hard-working artists.

For two, In no way should ai art be accepted as art made by a real person even if they claim it was so hard zero effort and skill is put into ai music. Real artists would completely agree that ai trashes on the hard effort they make. People who rely on ai can hate me if they want for saying it because all they know how to make is ai generated content but people who spend years on a song are not equal to someone who generated it in a single day with a prompt. If you can’t make music without ai generating it then learn and don’t be lazy. People work very hard to teach themself skills ai just completely trashes on it.

I don't share the same opinion about the use of AI in music or any other field, but I agree that AI-generated music should be labeled. Furthermore, I think this could be integrated with the explicit label: you can choose not to listen to explicit songs; I propose the same for AI-generated music.

Extra: I know there are people who can't stand AI-generated music, so I think the option to hide it is good for them. In my case, I neither love nor hate AI-generated music; sometimes it serves its purpose as background music.

Extra Extra (opinion): Yes, AI requires much less effort compared to MAKING MUSIC. But for someone who has no resources other than a cell phone to make music, it's a great way to realize their ideas. On the other hand, I believe that music made with AI, if created with discernment, knowledge, and experience, is still music coming from a thinking and feeling human being, using AI as a medium or as a way to do experimental things.

The music industry is expensive, especially if you aspire to upload content. Recording studios, equipment, instruments, supplies, hiring a producer or musician, and many other things. Some see AI as a "trivialization of human capacity," I prefer to see it as a "democratization of opportunities."

In any case, I'm not against the "no AI" crowd, nor am I in favor of the "all AI" crowd. I think everyone relates to music in a specific way. Some use it as background noise, others feel it very deeply and transcendently, and ultimately, everyone chooses what to listen to and what not to. This brings me back to my initial point: it would be great to implement the function described in the original thread and my comment so we can choose what we listen to 😉

Hi, there's an existing idea for this here with over 5.5k votes (and counting!): https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/Mark-Disable-AI-Generated-Songs/idi-p/6641329. Many of us on this thread have switched to Deezer because, unlike Spotify, it doesn't recommend AI-generated music and it actively labels AI-generated music.

stopaiinmusic

@animagi do you know if there is a way to completely block AI-gen on Deezer ?

More than a label I really think we should be allowed to filter out AI-gen music...

Technically it is really easy to do. So it's clearly a political problem...

Not that I'm aware of, but I know it doesn't appear in playlists (like their version of Discover Weekly etc) and it's clearly labelled.

I feel like AI music should be catagorised properly, it should be in a genre of it's own and be marked as been produced by AI. There should also be the option to turn off AI music, to stop it being recommended or automactically played when you've got your music on auto player.

what you’re saying, actually is that ai music it’s easier to generate it and it sounds less like trash as background music. Everybody finds opportunities. What about the people who don’t have access to Buying a AI subscription? and they go to church or in free school programs and they play on the piano? How I learned as I enrolled into a free program that I walked to school. Also, you can create music on a music studio on your phone on a tablet you can have a virtual piano that turns into anything you can make stuff yourself.  No money doesn’t excuse laziness. There’s a very tiny world that people who generate AI music and use it live in thinking that it’s art completely ignoring the fact that it destroys the music industry it makes it overpopulated people who have real talent who later on get the chance in the spotlight will not be able to be seen because the industry will be filled with a bunch of AI trash and non-talented celebrities. So my opinion is much more strict.

I'm tired too of AI slop. I like metalcore and post hardcore. I get 90% AI recommendations that actually all sound the same. Yeah it sounds nice but I want to discover real people and real bands as there are not that much that create the special genre I like.

If we had the NO Ai button I'd be able to do what I have been since 2012. Discovering new bands and liking real music. AI slop is not for release radar and discover weekly. I don't care about the inserted ai slop in between playlists though

Psychlone_man

The Papaoutai cover situation needs to be the final nail in the coffin. 15 million streams on AI slop trying to imitate a song deeply personal to Stromae. There needs to be an option to completely filter AI-generated content and music with AI-generated covers.

Powderhond

I hate that this is not visible. Content should be marked. I want to be able to filter out all ai music
