[All Platforms] Blocking podcasts shows

I have an unwanted podcast on my Spotify account.

I don't follow the podcast.

I didn't add the podcast.

I have no idea how it got there.

I'm not even interested in the content.

It tries to auto play this podcast occasionally when I'm caught up on my other podcasts.

I want it gone.

How can I do this?

If I can't do it myself, can I please get a support tech to delete it because it is a source of constant frustration and makes me just want to close the app and not use it.

Amen to this. This is one of about 10 suggestions on the same topic but worded slightly differently, than I've found in the last 10 minutes or so. To not be able to listen to 10 minutes or so of a podcast to decide if you like it or not, then have that constantly in your feed (especially when you work in my field and that person is Russell Brand...) is unbelievable. I'm not calling for cancellation, banning etc etc, it's just not me. EVERY TIME I now fire up the app, I'm getting in 'Your library' Russell Brand, The Saffa Podcast yada yada yada, all from stuff that was suggested to me that I can't 'turn off'?! I understand the marketing, but I just want to be able to say 'No thanks' to a particular pod or genre, and you can still suggest others? Why is this something we have to scream for? If you were a startup, then fair enough. You can't seriously be suggesting this isn't raised on a monthly if not weekly basis??

Hi everyone! Is it possible to develop an option to block certain content or shows for appearing in your autoplay? I once made the mistake to listen to a certain podcast, and now it keeps on popping up in Spotify’s autoplay feature. It really drives me crazy.

I know that there is a feature in “Podcasts and Shows” to select “no interest”. However, even when I indicate I am not interested in a particular podcast, it still keeps coming back in spotify's auto play feature.

Please, would it be possible to add a feature where you can block certain content from appearing again? Or at least a feature that modifies the algorithm a bit more aggressively than the existing 'no interest' feature? After all, the latter does not work properly.

"not interested" is not working.  Subscribers should have a way to REMOVE a podcast permanently from their home screen and t BLOCK further recommendations of the future episodes of the same podcast.  This would be good business and good business ethics.   Frankly, I am reading on internet that Spotify is losing money in podcasts.  The way to remedy this loss is not to drive your subscribers away by blasting them with podcast "recommendations" which appear more and more to me as podcast "advertising" since you are recommending podcast the subscribers has given the lowest rating to and has marked "no interested" ten or twenty times as you continue to recommend it.

Spotify's failure to provide this simple adjustment has turned me from a very happy, satisficed customer who had in the past recommended Spotify to over a dozen friends to a very unhappy subscriber who is beginning to look for a more user-friendly music program.  By the way, while your music recommendations are great (and I will miss them), your podcast recommendations are really aggravating and sometimes offensive.  How can this be good business?

That would be a good feature. I don’t want to be bothered by podcasts of some political evangelists. It’s Spotify not Facebook.

I am receiving suggestions of podcasts that are inconsistent with my interests. I am unable to "unlike" them, and they keep suggesting more podcasts like the one I don't want.

I listen to a lot of podcasts, just not the ones that are being heavily promoted.

Please add a "remove this suggestion" or at least a "thumbs down".

There used to be a dislike option. I remember using it.

Searching the help forum suggests you can't remove recommended podcasts, only listen to more podcasts to override it. I don't want to listen to more podcasts, I like the 3 I have. I just want it to stop insisting on switching to a "sleepy" podcast that played for about 20 seconds once in 2021, when I'm out and about and the podcast I'm listening to ends.

I'm certain I'm not alone in this disdain for the recommendation system when it comes to podcasts in particular. Especially considering the rather unsavoury comments left in response to finding out that this isn't something we as the consumer can curate manually. (Source: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Subscriptions/How-can-I-delete-a-podcast-from-your-shows/td-p/55258...)

I don't understand why the button to dismiss specific songs and podcasts was taken away. It was a very useful function. As users we should be allowed to override the algorithm when it comes to our own aversions.

Please bring it back.

I don't EVER want to listen to Tucker Carlson or Theo Vonn. I will never, ever listen to them. I never have. So ... WHY is it in my Daily Podcast mix? Why can't I block them?!

This is seriously making me consider cancelling and switching the whole family to another provider.

Quit shoving unwanted podcasts down my throat.

I would like an ability to block a podcast that I did not like or have no interest in.

Somehow Spotify decided that when my kids bedtime story podcast is done they should automatically play a completely inappropriate podcast next! And the one they have chosen I have NEVER listened to, but because Spotify chose it once now it thinks I want it every time! I have no way to stop it from happening or control over it happening. Why the algorithm thinks listening to some trash talking adult podcast is appropriate after Elmo is beyond me! If I can’t block this to stop it from happening then I may have to cancel my subscription.

Still no option to remove/block podcasts on mobile. There is a podcast I listened to once (really isn't even a podcast - "White Noise Relax Zone") that clogs the podcast section on the home screen. Drives me crazy.

I've tried removing through the desktop app, trying to crowd out the podcast, clearing cache, etc. Nothing works.

Come on Spotify...this is such an easy fix. This podcast is exploiting a loophole by regularly pumping out "episodes" so it will never go away, just being a constant nuisance to users like me.
