This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

When at work I have podcasts ( I never listen to podcasts ) with seriously inappropriate names appearing on my home page.  I'm here for the music please let me customize my experience.

I know that Spotify considers Podcasts to be a big part of its future, and that Spotify would really like me to listen to some podcasts. However, I'm familiar with what podcasts are and I'm not interested. Not only that, but the aggressive always-on-top way that podcasts are pushed onto me is quite unpleasant, and way beneath a reputable company.

Please show the home screen home love, and respect that different users have different reasons for being on Spotify.

When i turn on spotify in the morning, i don't want to see his smug face polluting my screen. I don't mind recommendations but there should be a way to remove the ones you don't want. In a perfect world, removing his podcast would also poke him with a small stick.

Seeing this post is from 2018 with 83 some pages of comments of people saying the same thing, it is quite clear Spotify is just ignoring it because they want to push their featured content.
I was willing to let it slide not having this feature but after finding this post I am about to rage quit Spotify!

Please Spotify listen to the people and make this happen, it is super simple to implement! no excuses!

So, I'm paying for Spotify Premium but can't customize what I would like to see and instead have to stare at the same 7 covers of Podcasts I've listened to two years ago? Please understand that not everybody is interested in Podcasts.

8K plus and Spotify "not right now". How many customers are you going to lose to other companies that provide user customization before you do it.

Almost 4 years after the initial post and the home screen is getting more and more cluttered with BS that I absolutely have no interest in. And as if this isn't enough, the cr@p that spotify recommends is actually low quality trash that insult my principles and aesthetics.

I guess shoving **bleep** down people's throats (in this case "minds") is Spotify's idea of a "business model".

I could accept this bs if I had a free account, but as a paying customer, I kind of expect to only see the content that I am choosing. Can you imagine buying a Pink Floyd album and finding out that there are some Justin Beaver (or whatever his name is) songs in there too? That's what you guys are doing, in case it hasn't been made clear to you already.

You'll soon lose another customer to the competition. How does this sounds for a business plan?

I have just canceled my Spotify family account at the end of the month after more than 10 years and switch to Apple Music.

Unfortunately, the people and the boss of Spotify do not get it any other way.

Bye Bye Spotify...hello Apple Music.

Just decided to try Spotify again, and this is crazy to me. It's crazy to me that I can't remove offensive podcasts from the home screen.
