[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Idea to Spotify:

If a customizable homepage is not feasible at this time, maybe you could allow an option to "Not recommend a podcast" or similar. I, and I think many users, feel anxious and frustrated, because there's less safety and autonomy when using Spotify, if at every login we're presented with certain images, we feel uncomfortable seeing. This means, at least for me, I end up using Spotify less because it makes me feel unsafe.

I think you can do a big contribution for the mental health of the world if you give your users more autonomy and safety here.

Adding all the request for need to at least remove certain recommendations from Start Screen content.

Having to switch to Apple Music or YT Music just because I listened to 20 seconds of an inappropriate podcast months ago that will not leave my home screen is a terrible strategy to push podcasts on the platform.

Ametal's workaround at least alleviates part the problem, by subscribing to a dummy podcast it eventually will replace the podcast in the Start Screen, however, the true issue still there with the terrible "recommendation" to begin with.

Just be glad you're not getting the bondage podcast recommendation that's showing up first for me. Scared to use Spotify at work now. I don't even want podcasts.

I have learned to immediately click on "My Library" whenever I start Spotify. My brain fortunately developed partial blindness to podcasts offerings the same way it ignores advertising.

My entire home page is stuff I would NEVER LISTEN TO. I also have a brain disorder that makes clutter my greatest enemy because I can’t remember what I’m doing when confronted with 5,000 uninteresting options that are clogging my screen. You know I don’t like country or pop music or the latest mainstream anything, why suggest it first thing when I open the app? Why is my entire good morning section full of podcasts and things I clicked one time that i never want to hear again? Why is there a picture of Chris brown or drake on my screen when I hate rap?

I too would like Spotify to give the option to remove certain podcasts from the home screen. Given the number of replies on this thread though I doubt they're ever gonna listen.

I just don't understand it. Today is another weird Spotify day!

The last few days Poscasts were displayed very rarely. Yesterday on both devices, Mac and iPhone I was shown three rows each...shows you might like, episodes for you and new episodes...even though I have never listened to a podcast.

Today is absolutely awesome!!!

In the iPhone app alone today, I'm seeing "Shows You Might Like", "Episodes for You", "Spotify Originals and Exclusives", "New Episodes", "Philosophical Podcasts for You" and "Spotify Originals and Exclusives Podcasts".

So well over two-thirds of my app is podcasts instead of music...IT'S GETTING WORSE! Spotify, what the heck is wrong with you guys?

Its a shame that Spotify didnt implemented this “feature” yet. I dont want to see some random ugly face all the time when I open app or on homepage of my Apple TV. I am paying for premium and they dont give a **uck. Shame on you Spotify management, shame on you! 

You blamed Apple for AirPlay 2 code and 3 years after you didnt do anything! Another shame on Spotify management.

Customizing the start screen is an absolute must.

Even though I rarely listen to podcasts the category "Episodes for you" is being pushed onto the start screen- very annoying.

A nice way of how to do it was implemented in the Sonos app.

Any plans to change that?
