[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

I would like the ability to remove items from "My Shows" and the section that displays at the top of the app/homepage. I listened to one episode of a podcast and it's there indefinitely even though I listen to other albums and podcasts. I haven't found a way to remove it.

Imported into something else, or just to have the record?

Timberbeard, search for TuneMyMusic. Deezer showed me a link to this service and it's a pretty nice service offering syncing playlists among music services. My Deezer trial period just ended so I'm now trying out Tidal and after that Qobuz. Can't say much about the pro's and cons yet, but I haven't regretted leaving Spotify.

Note that There may be a few tracks missing after the transfer, but you'll get a nice overview of the missing tracks. Another downside may be that the 'date added' information is gone, but if that's all, I can live with that.

There are tools like songshift.com and others that help you move playlists over to different platforms.

The home page is gross. It didn't use to be like this. I'm paying you already, stop trying to shove **bleep** I don't want down my throat.

Exactly. I would rather pay slightly more per month ($1) to get to avoid
push algorithms. It's the reason we pay for it.

It's why people used to have HBO over cable in the past. To be able to
watch a show/movie without most of it being cut up or commercial
interruptions.

Hi removing content from subfeeds via a "not interested" button does not solve the problem. There are still recommendations at the top of the home area that I have indicated that I'm not interested in in the subfeeds.

I don't use subfeeds; the homescreen is where I need more granular control.

I totally support this idea!
I will like to always keep 1. Trending albums for you 2. Recommended for today  3. Album picks on the home page. Hope these three parts get refresh more often. It will be a better environment for me to discover more.

Everyone gets the monetization thingy, but having podcasts pushed to me that does not reflect my interests or taste on my “home screen” feels like “this is not my place”.

I do listen to podcasts I like, but I also check other ones I particularly dislike. How so? My Kids prefer gaming podcasts with videos and would spend plenty of time to watch it, but that's not going to happen. That's the reason I limit their screen time down now for spotify to 30 min per day and to make sure they do not waste time on video podcasts, because I'm blocking the IP's in the firewall. Before that, they could use spotify almost 24h.

Spoiler: Blocking IP's works, till they change.

However, that still leaves me with annoying gaming video podcasts recommended to me, because I used them to identify the IP's currently used.

The other thingy is, the other day I was wondering if there is any erotic content (still kids relevant), and now I all I'm seeing is gaming and xxx content. I wished I never have searched for it.

This issue is really disappointing.
