[All Platforms][Music] HiFi Quality - Lossless Streaming 16bit 44.1khz

I've just started a trial of Qobuz - they offer the standard 320kbps as well as lossless FLAC streaming (and high res downloads if you purchase them) the sound quality is noticeably better and on classical it's just wonderful to get all that resolution through your hi-fi or headphones! The catalogue has a way to go to get to Spotify's level, but they are getting there. The iPad app isn't' too bad (the desktop app is in need of an upgrade but I hear they are putting all their efforts into mobile apps right now).
So - lossless streaming - if Qobuz can do it then so can Spotify, they must have the same source - and obviously if you are asking £20 a month then those record labels and distributors take enough notice to make the high res tracks available for streaming. What this all means is soon, very soon, we will get lossless streaming and closely followed by high res downloads - but if Spotify aren't careful it will be Apple who get there first with an audiophile premium offering, and when they do it will be a much harder market place to make money in!

Hey folks,

We know that HiFi quality audio is important to you. We feel the same, and we’re excited to deliver a Spotify HiFi experience to Premium users in the future. But we don’t have timing details to share yet.

We will of course update you here when we can.

Take care.

Spotify's CS and customer information is infuriatingly non-existent. This thread is ~7 years old and Spotify's mods have commented here maybe 2 times?

Don't hold your breath waiting for #nonresponsify to give any updates.

I have decide finaly today to subscribe Tidal hi-fi. The best Quality bit
more expensive but they pay the artists a fair price.

Hey 🙂 i‘m deep in the Apple Ecosystem, almost every tech product i own is made by them (no mac).
But i don‘t think Apple really cares about Apple Music. It is slow, buggy, complicated to use and unusable on windows pcs, they don’t listen to feedback and instead of fixing stuff they announced a different subscription plan and new playlists this week.

Their products are great, their software is great but Apple Music… i don’t know they really need to do something

Well I have a Hiby 2020 R6  music player and use Apple Music and it sounds fantastic and auto switches sampling rate up to 24/192

So I’m pretty happy with Apple Music and Android . I don’t use Windows machines so I don’t know the deal there but with Mac it’s great except for you can’t auto switch samplings rates .

On windows it’s still running on old itunes and no support for lossless.

but good to hear it’s working fine for you! Have fun

@Roney1967 and everyone else.

Tidal is NOT the best quality (unless you are fooled by MQA which is used a lot by Tidal):

The best sound quality is offered by Qobuz. If it is available in your region of the world I suggest it among all the rest for the best sound quality. Where Apple Music, Deezer and Amazon Music also offer full CD quality sound or higher they each have drawbacks in sound quality unless you know the workarounds of which Deezer can’t currently output bit perfect and you need to know how it works with Apple Music and Amazon Music what gear you are using and how to get them to correctly output bit perfect audio. Qobuz does not have an issue with bit perfect audio output.

As for those who use the idea of which music streaming service pays the most I suggest you read this page of posts starting with the first post (second one on the page) by Omegawave as to how it works and why it’s not really a thing:

Decided not to wait any longer.   Setup a Qobuz account WOW what a difference in sound quality!  Minimizing Spotify use until they get this worked out.

I am try now also 3 months for free Deezer premium hi-fi and that's sound
so much better than Spotify. Also the app and the collection is so big. And
all that for family subscription for 16,99....

I don't hear any SQ differences between any of the lossless streamers, except for the Tidal streams, many of which get distorted by the MQA processing. I want my lossless, bit perfect lossless to the original master tape, not messed with and changed by Meridian's rip off software.

I'm currently on Apple do to their streaming of lots of Atmos and other multich files!  It's a shame that their UI, menus, and the rest are such a mess  😞  I'm hoping they will address all the complaints in the near future. At the same time I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Spotify will bring their lossless streaming out in the near future and will include the same level of multich files that Apple offers. If they do I'll jump back to Spotify in a flash.  I keep on praying Spotify that you do this soon and do it right.

You can still get 3 months free from Qobuz, available for few days here:
