I've just started a trial of Qobuz - they offer the standard 320kbps as well as lossless FLAC streaming (and high res downloads if you purchase them) the sound quality is noticeably better and on classical it's just wonderful to get all that resolution through your hi-fi or headphones! The catalogue has a way to go to get to Spotify's level, but they are getting there. The iPad app isn't' too bad (the desktop app is in need of an upgrade but I hear they are putting all their efforts into mobile apps right now).

So - lossless streaming - if Qobuz can do it then so can Spotify, they must have the same source - and obviously if you are asking £20 a month then those record labels and distributors take enough notice to make the high res tracks available for streaming. What this all means is soon, very soon, we will get lossless streaming and closely followed by high res downloads - but if Spotify aren't careful it will be Apple who get there first with an audiophile premium offering, and when they do it will be a much harder market place to make money in!

** please don't lump this suggestion with the main one on lossless downloads, that's a different idea entirely guys!

For Deezer HEOS users it might be interesting to know that HiFI streaming is working now on their HEOS devices from Denon and Marantz. You have to update to the latest HEOS app and make sure your device has the latest firmware update.

Spotify please release HiFi, I'll pay extra but release it now. I 'm sick and tired of having multiple Audio streaming services with lack luster experience. release it now, please. It's been four years from the announcement and 10 years of this thread.

Yes, I am also tired of having 2 streaming services. Please, just release it. It has been due for too long now and it’s just ridiculous that you let your service fall behind the other ones like this.

There could be a HiFi music plan, including FLAC songs in higher quality than the CD version (44.1 kHz, 16-bit, maximum quality of 1411 kbps), or even including purer versions than the current FLAC, such as WAV/PCM or uncompressed files (Internet speeds are currently faster), even though it would be a niche situation, it would be the only streaming with the purest music quality in existence.

Is there any Update on Hi Fi / high resolution offering? I keep flicking back to Apple Music as quality is much better…

I moved on to apple music, although it is a HUGE pain getting apple to take
my money, the sound quality is leagues better over here, and even if
spotify did improve, I probably wouldn't move back. And they better not
charge extra because apple gives more for only $1.01 extra, spotify has
gotta get their head in the game if they want me back.

I was thinking migrating to Apple music for the lossless streaming advantage but decided to hold on a bit as I love Spotify UI and UX. When will Spotify give it's subscribers lossless music? It is long overdue and you know it well.

I would love better quality, it is currently the only reason I use other platforms alongside Spotify.
