[All Platforms][Music] HiFi Quality - Lossless Streaming 16bit 44.1khz

I've just started a trial of Qobuz - they offer the standard 320kbps as well as lossless FLAC streaming (and high res downloads if you purchase them) the sound quality is noticeably better and on classical it's just wonderful to get all that resolution through your hi-fi or headphones! The catalogue has a way to go to get to Spotify's level, but they are getting there. The iPad app isn't' too bad (the desktop app is in need of an upgrade but I hear they are putting all their efforts into mobile apps right now).

So - lossless streaming - if Qobuz can do it then so can Spotify, they must have the same source - and obviously if you are asking £20 a month then those record labels and distributors take enough notice to make the high res tracks available for streaming. What this all means is soon, very soon, we will get lossless streaming and closely followed by high res downloads - but if Spotify aren't careful it will be Apple who get there first with an audiophile premium offering, and when they do it will be a much harder market place to make money in!

Hey folks,

We know that HiFi quality audio is important to you. We feel the same, and we’re excited to deliver a Spotify HiFi experience to Premium users in the future. But we don’t have timing details to share yet.

We will of course update you here when we can.

Take care.

$20 for Spotify? I can get Amazon HD music for $9 (with podcasts BTW if I wanted them, which I don't). Qobuz has one of the slickest ui's, broad editorial content with the most intelligent data handling, and I can get that for $12.99, with the ability to buy HiRes music. That's something that none of the other streamers support. Everybody's offering better value, HD music, and honestly Spotify's UI looks bloated compared to the competition.

They should do drug testing in the Spotify marketing department because I think somebody is smoking something hallucinogenic. Nothing from that link makes me interested in returning to Spotify for $20. I'd MAYBE come back for $11.95-9.95. Nah!

Absurd!

I'm OK with this, provided that Studio Sound is what it sounds like (pun intended). It's a decent price to pay for a centralised platform that has all your music, podcasts and perhaps audiobooks at a good quality so you can listen everywhere at any time. I'll be there if it turns out as it should.

So rather than offer HiFi as part of the standard package like Apple and Amazon, Spotify are testing the idea of a 100% price hike (and throwing in a bunch of useless features to take the bad look off things).

All this in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis when many customers will be struggling with the whole idea of paying anything towards a music streaming service. Great thinking guys and please let us know what you’ve been smoking as it must be strong stuff!

Meanwhile the whole world is starving and Spotify rises the price like everyone is rich, what they smoking exactly 😕

Dear Spotify, I appreciate your assurances that you plan to deliver a Spotify HiFi experience to Premium users like me, and I'm excitedly waiting for that to be delivered under my Premium plan. Honestly, since I have access to Tidal HiFi Plus and Amazon Music, I'm not really willing to pay more than I'm paying today for my Spotify Premium plan. I currently use Tidal and Amazon Music more than Spotify, but that could shift if Spotify delivers a HiFi experience. I've maintained my Spotify Premium subscription in hopes that my loyalty will be rewarded. Please don't let me down.

Can you post in English?

Here's english translation from some search machine:

I have to suggest something, it is a perfect integration with external DACs, that would make the platform as good in that aspect as TIDAL, it would be incredible and they would surely have all the communities covered, both the one who listens in a low quality speaker, how to the most exquisite audiophile, that is, the absolute domain, is a user suggestion
