[All Platforms][Music] HiFi Quality - Lossless Streaming 16bit 44.1khz

I've just started a trial of Qobuz - they offer the standard 320kbps as well as lossless FLAC streaming (and high res downloads if you purchase them) the sound quality is noticeably better and on classical it's just wonderful to get all that resolution through your hi-fi or headphones! The catalogue has a way to go to get to Spotify's level, but they are getting there. The iPad app isn't' too bad (the desktop app is in need of an upgrade but I hear they are putting all their efforts into mobile apps right now).

So - lossless streaming - if Qobuz can do it then so can Spotify, they must have the same source - and obviously if you are asking £20 a month then those record labels and distributors take enough notice to make the high res tracks available for streaming. What this all means is soon, very soon, we will get lossless streaming and closely followed by high res downloads - but if Spotify aren't careful it will be Apple who get there first with an audiophile premium offering, and when they do it will be a much harder market place to make money in!

Hey folks,

We know that HiFi quality audio is important to you. We feel the same, and we’re excited to deliver a Spotify HiFi experience to Premium users in the future. But we don’t have timing details to share yet.

We will of course update you here when we can.

Take care.

Another day and yet another name, but still nothing has changed:

That was more of clickbait and no real news regarding this.

We're approaching that time of year when we can look back once again and marvel at Spotify's stunning lack progress on the introduction of high quality audio.

What are the chances next year will be any different?

Jonas233

even amzon has a high res option and i know nobody that uses amazon for music

One more year without high-res and at list without normal CD quality.

How much time you will pay for this sheet?

Only been using Spotify to listen to podcasts.

Anytime I want to listen to music, it's Tidal for me.

I should dump spotify but my kids both use it and they're the perfect target audience for Spotify as they don't care about sound quality.

So been stuck carry two streaming services for the time being but eventually hoping to just switch to a Tidal family plan once I get the kids/wife on board with it.

Well folks, it's pretty sad.

I use spotify since 2011 and been a Premium User for over 8 years.

For the most time I've been very happy with the UI, the algorithm etc. When i was able to afford much better headphones and speakers it got complicated fast.

I just copied all my playlists to Tidal and am planning to switch completely eventually. It's just such a big difference i can't come back from anymore.

I've been using Spotify since it was invitation only (must be at least 15 years) but yesterday I finally hit the cancel button.

I would have done it sooner (been paying for Tidal for five years as well) but my kids were too entrenched to cut it off and moaned about hundreds of playlists and thousands of songs to recreate.  Now they're older I was able to say 'come over to Tidal or pay for Spotify yourselves'.  Oddly the migration didn't then seem too much of a challenge.

I'm annoyed I've had to do this, but more than that I'm sad.  That green logo has been a big part of my life for a very long time.

Tried to migrate over to Qoboz, however a lot of my music wasn't available.  99% EDM, and many artists and songs just weren't there post migration. Dealbreaker for me.  Pretty bummed as the entire process and experience overall was great.  The sound quality was certainly noticeable, especially in the car.  For anyone interested, the migration process is very easy and turnkey.

If you have a large library it'll take some time to get everything into Soundiiz but after that you'll be good to go.  All my playlists came over pretty smoothly. Hope this helps!
