[All Platforms] Option to have a true shuffle

So I’ve been noticing more and more recently that Spotify’s default shuffle feature doesn’t fully shuffle your songs. It does some sort of grouping to try to get similar songs together based off of what I’m sure is dozens of factors. Every time I shuffle a playlist (the one I noticed this with the most is ~100 songs and 6 hours of mostly full albums) it will group the songs mostly or completely together by album/artist, and given the number of times I’ve re-shuffled and checked the order there’s no way it’s just a coincidence. They also generally seem to be in the same order as well. If I hit shuffle play on a playlist it’ll generally put the same artists at the beginning every time.

With larger playlists of albums I am really not a fan of this shuffling method. If I have 6 hours of music on a playlist I will hardly ever have 6 hours to actually listen through the whole thing, but when I do listen to it I would like to hear all of the music on it equally, and not just the artist or two your algorithm likes to shuffle to first.

Anyways, I’m a reasonable man, all I’m asking for is an option to have a true shuffle (take all songs in the list, put them in a random order, and once they’re all played reshuffle them and play them again). Make it premium only if you want. I don’t think you should scrap the current shuffle algorithm because it sucks. Looking at some of the suggestions on here it seems like some people lobbied hard to have it that way. Just add an option for a true shuffle for those of us that don’t care about potentially getting the same song twice in a row.

At this point this type of information is the most useful (since Spotify will not be changing anything)**bleep**'ve wanted to switch for a while but have not had the time or energy to deal with all the research and testing involved in that process. If others can share their experiences on different platforms that would likely be helpful to a lot of people on here. Thanks again for sharing.

Any updates on this? I know it's like beating a dead horse but I really miss the social features and connect from Spotify but the shuffle on Tidal is more important than those. If the shuffle ever gets fixed I will come by. Please someone that works at Spotify take a look at this

ca fais des mois que j'ai des problème d'aléatoire je me suis abonnée (duo) sur spotify parce qu'on m'avais dis que je n'aurai pas ce problème par rapport aux lecture aléatoire que j'avais sur clés usb j'ai 35h de musique c'est pas énorme mais j'écoute jamais ce temps là mais c'est toujours les mêmes chansons au bout d'un moment ça lasse .faudrait peut-être que je voie ailleurs si le problème est pareil . Dans ce cas je changerai de fournisseur .Dommage que spotify  n'écoute pas ces abonnés payants car ça à l'air de durer depuis un bon moment sans aucune réaction , ça risque de leur retomber dessus (désabonnements, mauvais avis etc etc )

Has this been implemented yet? I have a 36hr playlist that I started listening to the past few weeks again after a few years. Every time I play it (on shuffle) the same 20 or so songs are played - it's infuriating. Surely it can't take this long to implement a true shuffle function. Even just the option to switch between true shuffle and the current algorithm in the settings. Would loooove an update!

I hope this is related to this thread since Spotify have at least acknowledged the thread even if they haven't solved the issue. Is there a "Shuffle Play Favourite Artists" function yet? I saw a thread from years ago where people were asking/complaining about it. Didn't want to start a new thread if this issue was related to an existing thread. Thanks heaps.
