[All Platforms][Playlists] View all playlist followers/who likes my playlists

I would really like the ability to view all of my playlist followers and I am sure I am not the only one. What I am suggesting is a simple system, where you could press on the "# Followers" section of the playlist Window:

allow view followers.png

I would suggest it would either give you a drop down of all the followers or even better (in my opinion), a redirect to another page with all the followers on it similar to the Following/Followers tab in the Follow page of the client.

Please add your kudos and any comments here!

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Thanks.

i think that you should be able to see who saved your playlist. i always get so curious as to who does and i think it will add to the social aspect of spotify! please add this feature it would be amazing.

It's been almost 5 years since the last big forum post about having playlist followers be visible. It was marked as a "Not yet" idea but we still don't have it. Let us see who's following our playlists, pretty please?

Can I ask why you want this? Personally, I very much disagree with this suggestion. I have multiple playlists with 1000+ followers and on a privacy level, I think this would be a terrible idea.

I'm already stalked on my socials by small dedicated artists, suggesting I add them to those playlists. Now imagine bots/people tracing every account name and constantly spamming you to follow their other playlists and/or new music...

@McvW Naturally, this is for normal people with only a handful of playlist followers, if even. You're a special case, as not everyone nor even the majority of people will be in your position.

I used to have this friend who would follow my playlists without my knowledge and it always put a smile on my face knowing people enjoyed my taste in music. Had I known it was them, I would've had the chance to talk about the song choices with them extensively. Because I didn't know, it never came up in normal conversation and we never got the chance to bond over music and slowly drifted apart from each other. Many, many months later, they confessed it had been them who followed the playlists and we reconnected to talk about the songs for a while. We both regret not having the conversation sooner.

This wasn't the first, or even second, time that a situation like this has happened with people I talk to and I doubt it's a rare occurrence with many others. It allows people to bond more closely with their friends rather than having it be a mostly faceless audience that follows and appreciates your music taste. Plus, if someone's being a creep about it, now you'll know who they are and you can block them instead of having to private the entire playlist and removing anyone else that had it saved.

Being allowed to see who follows your playlists shouldn't severely impact anything. What really changes? They make targeted playlists saying "Hi [Name] pls follow my socials"? IF you have them added on anything else, they'll hound you for following their playlist but nothing else? The situation you're posing is too unique to be a major issue to 99% of people. In addition, who would seriously do anything about it? What are the odds someone sees you follow their playlist and harasses you over it?

Sorry for the big wall of text, I attempted to make my stance as clear as possible without sounding insulting while also dotting my i's and crossing my t's.

  • I also think so I'm very interested to see who saved my playlist

I don't support this idea at all. I can't imagine that people would want playlist makers to see their profiles and potentially reach out to them. It's an intrusion to their privacy. Additionally, I don't see the advantage for playlist makers. I'm running a spanish indie playlist with 2000+ followers - what would I do with the info? Reach out to the users and recommend my other playlists? Don't think anyone would want this.

I think it would be pretty cool to see the accounts that liked your created playlist

I have been a spotify user since a few years and I really appreciate spotify. Probably the best streaming platform or the best app to listen music, though I am not a premium user. The ads maybe annoying sometimes, but it is understandable.

I am really curious to know who liked my playlists and I assume some of us too are curious as well.I think every playlist owner needs to know who liked their playlist. Notifications when someone likes their playlist is not necessary or even the public does not need to know who liked whose playlist, just the owner.

Again, I really appreciate the app and I hope this app gets enough success and love. I hope my suggestion will make the app a little better, or not. Thank you!

Please add a feature that allows us to see who is saving our public playlists. I am actually begging.

Spotify why would you not implement this idea… have you got bots liking our playlists and you want to hide it? I can’t think of any other reason you wouldn’t introduce this idea or why you got rid off the feature in 2013. Please at least give as another update or a reason as to why you haven’t reintroduced this feature. It’s been 5 and a half years since your update Spotify. Give us a response please
