[All Platforms][Podcasts] Add Podcasts from RSS URL, for Patreon and other Private Private Streams

There have been a few similar posts, and the most recent one was ~5 votes from passing, so I'm going to try submitting this again.

 

Wouldn't it be amazing if you could add a podcast to your feed from an RSS URL? Did you sign up for a patreon and not know how to listen to your special new feed?

 

This request is to add the ability to add a podcast from an RSS feed. This opens a lot of doors, and theoretically isn't that difficult to implement.

Hey everyone,

 

It seems that this idea ended up in the wrong board accidentally, so we're bringing it back.

 

We're keeping the previous Not Right Now status, as we don't have any immediate plans to implement this. As soon as we have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here.

Time for you to give the Podcast section some love, Spotify. Please include RSS feeds capability.

Podcasts in the Spotify systems feels like a half-baked concept right now, it really needs more love and this is step one in that for me.

I love Spotify, have been a premium user for >5 years and now use the podcast section almost daily. But I too really miss this feature - it's forcing me to use two podcast apps.

Unsubbed because I was tired of having my home feed cluttered up with podcasts. I'd be quite happy if Spotify either didn't throw unwanted advertisements at premium subscribers or if it was actually a viable alternative as a podcast player - without RSS it isn't as I subscribe to several Patreon feeds.

Ok Spotify team, when oh when will this feature be implemented? Quite frankly it’s absurd that this is not an option by now! If you want us to stay in your app for all of our listening adventures this MUST be added, I HATE that I must use a different app for the podcasts I care the most about and pay for.

I recently joined a patreon for a podcast and they’re going to be releasing some content soon on an RSS feed and I’d love to have this feature— bump

The fact that this isn't a feature is laughable. This is literally a basic feature of most podcasting apps.
