[All Platforms][Podcasts] Option to disable or hide podcasts entirely

I don't listen to podcasts and don't intend to. But it currently takes up valuable space in both the Spotify mobile app and also in Android Auto. It's annoying having to see podcasts all the time when I don't care for them and don't want to see them.

Is it not reasonable to just have a toggle to show podcasts or not?

I have never listened to podcasts, and yet Spotify advertises them to me. I pay for a premium to not get advertisements. If the podcast cancer won't stop, I'll switch to torrenting music again. F--k all these legal ways to try and support artists which are so deeply rooted in trying to constantly get you to consume more and more. If the services were made well, I'd subscribe to them happily, but apparently capitalism cannot produce anything but obnoxious adware.

I love podcasts! And I love listening to podcasts on Spotify, but I still want the option to disable podcasts. They're way too distracting! Sometimes I want to just listen to music while working, but I see a new podcast and get dragged in. Obviously this is a self-control issue, but it would be nice to have the option to just get them out of my view when i open the app. This is the best music and podcast app otherwise! Cheers.

I'm happy to see an update from October and I hope whatever idea they're considering comes to fruition in the new year, if not sooner with the addition of being able to disable/remove SPECIFIC podcasts (I landed on this page from Google where there are tons of threads in this community, on reddit, etc. of people wanting this feature). I listened to a podcast I'm not at all interested in to support my boyfriend who was a guest on the show. Now every time I listen to the one podcast I do like to listen to regularly, it constantly plays after the newest podcast episode is over. I also worry that because it's automatically the next one to play the algorithm will think I like the podcast and refer me to more like it. It looks like the only solution is listening to more podcasts (which I'm not really interested in doing) or turning off autoplay, but I like to keep that on because that feature is beneficial when I listen to music. Being able to disable or remove podcasts from automatically playing or from being listed as 'your shows' would be an amazing feature that would make the premium price of Spotify worth it. It would also probably make me interested in exploring more podcasts because I wouldn't fear that I would get stuck with it autoplaying constantly. Fingers crossed a block or remove feature is integrated soon.

Hi, please dump podcast.. or put a disable setting on the app... I can't play my folders "my music i saved"  no matter what i name the folder podcast plays all the time!! so **bleep** off!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed, ridiculous that "free" platforms give me more control of my homepage than this, which I pay for every month. I don't ever want to see Joe Rogan's offensive podcast on my homescreen. Make it go away!

I just want to point out how absurd it is that Spotify censors language in the comments since they are for public consumption but refuses to let people hide podcasts filled with expletives, violence, and detailed sexual encounters from themselves or their children.

personally, my biggest concern is that I want a better and cleaner  UI while also avoiding fake science all over my screen. I like my podcasts in a separate app. But being able to block weird Wiccan **bleep** podcasts that I have never ever listened to would be nice.

Joe Rogan makes me want to throw up and you force his stupid face at me when I just want to listen to music.  Let me have the option to remove his divisive ass from my screen because I literally hate the **bleep**er.

Spotify:  This is my 30 day notice.  If you do not respond constructively to nearly 8,000 votes, I will cancel my premium membership and uninstall spotify.  There enough competing platforms for my limited needs.

My 30 days notice ends tomorrow.  I guess I will just vote with my wallet and cancel my premium plan.  I realize that losing just 1 customer will have no impact on Spotify.  But if enough customers did this it might ... someday ... perhaps ...

People have been requesting this for years.  Let us remove podcasts we don't like that we only listened to once but you keep playing on auto rotate
