[All Platforms][Podcasts] Option to disable or hide podcasts entirely

I don't listen to podcasts and don't intend to. But it currently takes up valuable space in both the Spotify mobile app and also in Android Auto. It's annoying having to see podcasts all the time when I don't care for them and don't want to see them.

Is it not reasonable to just have a toggle to show podcasts or not?

I have a different service for podcasts and do not want to see any form of podcasts / shows whatever related to podcasts in my Spotify interface, not in search, not in recommended, not anywhere. Just allow me to remove everything podcast related. Find another way to make money.

This idea has been under consideration for 5 years now, that is insane to me that they haven't made it possible to block podcast series or podcast creators - I have been forced to listen to Smosh Reads Reddit for the past year, as it weirdly autoplays after listening to the business and sports podcasts I do listen to - I never followed this podcast, and yet it autoplays when my subscriptions habe completed - I absolutely hate this podcast, its annoying AF, and I'd love to never hear it again.

Just commenting here again after years of dealing with this issue. I am a premium subscriber. My monthly price continues to increase. Yet I still can't control what I see on my home screen. I don't want to see podcast suggestions, especially when it is explicit content or disrespectful podcasts. Please change this Spotify.

Podcasts that are of the lowest quality possible clog up my home screen. I can opt out of any singer but i cant get rid of this junk. I am considering alternatives already.

Please be able to block NSFW podcast content so my kid doesn't have to see inappropriate things in the Your Shows section.

Spotify still doing nothing about this. How do we get this moved up? There are hundreds of comments and likes with all users more or less agreeing that we want to remove podcasts from our homescreen.

You people do not get it. Spotify keep this forums up in order to deflect critics, not listen to them. If you **bleep** and moan here, you are not bitching and moaning about spotify on social medias. They have no intention whatsoever in actually taking any action based on mere users urging change. Why would they when we are not voting with our feet and cancel subscriptions?

We wouldn’t be having this discussion if Spotify just made a seperate app entirely dedicated to their podcasts, audiobooks, news and everything non-music cr/ap and kept the main app MUSIC-ONLY.

They still could do this and create a seperate app but I don’t think it’ll ever happen ….

I agree. I don't listen to podcast or audio books and I'm getting tired of them coming up all the time. Please make it possible to hide certain/specific types of content that we don't like or use
