[All Platforms][Podcasts] Option to disable or hide podcasts entirely

I don't listen to podcasts and don't intend to. But it currently takes up valuable space in both the Spotify mobile app and also in Android Auto. It's annoying having to see podcasts all the time when I don't care for them and don't want to see them.

Is it not reasonable to just have a toggle to show podcasts or not?

Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming to the Idea Exchange and for bringing us your continual feedback. We also think this is a great idea and that there's an opportunity to make it happen, so we're looking into it further.

We'll post here when we have an update - Stay tuned!

Oh Spotify, instead of finally listening to your customers, here comes another new category: "episodes selected for me", which are of course based on my listening history and are similar to "my shows". I HAVE NEVER LISTENED TO ONE OF YOUR PODCASTS! How are these suggestions supposed to relate to podcasts that I NEVER listen to? Are you kidding me, or do you smoke a few joints in the morning before you start work, then sit down together and think up new **bleep** to annoy your customers with? Just my humor.

It could be so simple...if I click on the Music tab, it should still be selected the next time I open the app.

My 12 year old got explicit content promoted to her within a week of signing up. They don’t care and the filters don’t work on the Family Plan.

Adding +1 to the thousands of votes. Still need to be able to hide or decline unwanted podcasts.

This absolutely must be a toggle for family account owners, as explicit podcasts can't be controlled by the existing explicit content toggle. Currently kids can watch podcast videos of "content" which is real bummer when you're trying to trust your kid to use their music player just for music!

Why is there no music only account? I don’t give a hoot about audiobooks or podcasts.

Perhaps, I am the minority. However, a tiered system allowing me to just choose a music subscription is necessary. $20 a month is too much. We need choice without continuous rising cost.

That is fine if what I’m proposing is contrary ro what Spotify envisions for it’s shareholders. I will not support this company though, after 6 years unless things change.

TLDR; Too expensive, zero subscription options.

Please just let music tab be selected when i click home so I don't have to keep doing it!

I want Spotify focused on music 98% of the time, please stop forcing me to look at audiobooks and podcasts. The All home screen is a total

Hey Spotify! Are you just totally ignore this? Why are you not allowing people to hide podcasts that they never want to see? Why? Seriously why not?

I just want a way to hide podcasts entirely or only diffrent artists because i dont want to use spotify for podcasts and i wish to hide them due to spotify having bad content that it shows on the home page (no i dont have explicit content on)

2 years and nothing !

Meanwhile, there is more and more pornographic content in video podcasts!

Joe Rogan keeps autoplaying when I'm listening to podcasts. Definitely not part of any kind of 'taste profile' of my listening habits. Sucks when I'm driving to have this suddenly come up- not just one episode, but my queue gets filled with his entire podcast history. I have to pull over to purge my queue and re-queue with podcasts Spotify's algorithm should know I want to hear. I don't want Spotify gaming my listening history as part of his compensation scheme. I don't want to support softball interviews of people with dangerously stupid ideas.
