[All Platforms][Podcasts] Option to disable or hide podcasts entirely

I don't listen to podcasts and don't intend to. But it currently takes up valuable space in both the Spotify mobile app and also in Android Auto. It's annoying having to see podcasts all the time when I don't care for them and don't want to see them.

Is it not reasonable to just have a toggle to show podcasts or not?

Please allow users the autonomy to disable or block certain stories/podcast. My 5 year old son listens to a lot of trash stories on Spotify because it keeps suggesting similar or same podcast/stories from the same producer!! 

I think the user interface needs to be more user-friendly, most importantly allow user the autonomy to choose which podcast they want to hear. The algorithm of suggestions is way to overwhelming, please also design a child-friendly interface and parental control on these interfaces.

Spotify "suggested podcasts" are just ads that we as customers pay to see.

And here we have another perfectly sensible feature request which Spotify has ignored for 4 YEARS!

Why do all these corporates have all these pointless "social policies" but just spend their time ignoring their paying customers?

This has taken forever to implement, and the fact that a podcast that was listened to 1x just STAYS in users' 'Your Shows' is disgraceful.

They're not 'Your Shows' if 'You' cannot take out the unwanted garbage that's cluttering it up.

It should be called 'Shows We Think You Should Listen To,' that would be more accurate.

A lot of us are paying for a premium service, and not only are we getting a bunch of ads in the podcasts, we're getting podcasts PUSHED at us by this system.

"I don't want to listen to this podcast/album/artist/genre/category-HIDE" should be an option all over this UX.
That would be even better than just a podcast fix.

I could hide, idk, Carlie B and Michael Bublé and be much happier with my auto-generated playlists, and would be that much closer to the customizability that Pandora had for its 'radio' options, when they still had a good catalog.

It's practically 2024 and we still have to endure podcasts ads!

We are explicitly paying to NOT see ads.

Make a separate app!!!! I would switch to Apple Music in a heart beat if it had a decent Windows app.

I made the mistake of using Spotify to listen to some podcasts, and stopped, but now it's showing podcasts when I want to see music. I'm paying money for this service and can't control how I use it?

I entirely agree; please give me a way to disable Podcasts & Shows. It's really annoying to have that pushed in my face. I use (and want to use) Spotify exclusively for music. I use different applications for podcasts and books, and I don't want those activities to collide. Podcasts & Shows takes up valuable screen space and adds no value to me. I don't mind it being there optionally, but it's really annoying that I can't get rid of it. I understand you're trying to add more value to the product, but please understand that value to me doesn't mean "add more." It means faster and more focused.

If I wanted an all-in-one ecosystem, I wouldn't use Spotify; I would use Apple, Google, or Amazon for music, podcasts, and video. Please don't make Spotify into a product that tries to compete in an all-in-one ecosystem space like that. You'll lose. Make a product that does one thing (i.e., music) well across multiple platforms (macOS, Linux, Windows, iOS, Android, web).

I spent 45 minutes finding this thread to post this comment because I care. I like(d) Spotify; I have used it for over 10 years, and want to continue using it. Feel free to contact me directly if you'd like.

Please! I love podcasts, but I don't need the recommendations taking up my entire screen. I listen to many hours of podcasts, but just don't need recommendations for them like I do for music.

The 'music' tab on Android is obnoxious with the autoplay and the single album scrolling. All I want is music on my home screen.
