[All Platforms] Remember Position in Playlist / Album

Please remember the current song playing in a playlist so if I switch away to a different playlist and then switch back, Spotify will know where I left off.

I often can't finish a playlist right away or my mood changes so I might switch to a different playlist. Later, I want to finish the previous playlist, not start over again.

Hey everyone,

This idea accidentally ended up in the wrong board, so we're moving it back here.

We're keeping the Not Right Now status as we don't have any immediate plans to implement this. As soon as we have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here.

Take care.

I frequently listen to long playlists that I haven’t made myself. My goal is to listen to all the songs on the list at least once through. The issue is that if I want to take a break from that particular playlist, I automatically lose my spot in the music. This isn’t an issue in my own playlists as I know the songs and can easily find my spot but in a new playlist it’s very difficult to remember where I left off. I usually solve this by taking a screenshot of the current song within the playlist but I just thought it might be nice to have a fancier way of marking my place with some sort of “pause playlist here” option that would allow me to listen to other music and easily pick up where I left off when I’m done. This probably isn’t an issue for a lot of other people but I thought I’d at least make the suggestion of a playlist song book marker.

Let's say you listen to the first 10 songs or so of a playlist.

Then, you listen to some other stuff that is not part of the playlist.

I think it would be logical that the next time you search for that playlist and start playing it, it resumes where you left it instead of restarting from the first song.

Just saying.

I'm wondering if there is a way to resume playlists where they were left.

Let's imagine you listen to the first couple of songs in a playlist and then play something else that is not part of the playlist.

Next time you search for that playlist and start playing it, it should resume where you left it instead of restarting with the first song.

Any setting to do that?

Thanks

Can you believe they have been ignoring this enhancement for 12 years?

Yes....This is an example of a company not focusing on their customers and
the reason I cancelled my subscription

HOW THE **bleep** has Spotify not solved this problem yet????!!

60 pages of comments begging for this feature since 2012, and many other threads complaining about the same.

Why the heck can they not implement this??? What an ignorant excuse of a company.

Hi there, it would be cool if Spotify remembered the last song in an album I listened to the way it remembers podcasts. Like I would listen to an album, stop in the middle of it, listen to a podcast or a song or another album and then I would like to return to that album, specifically to the last song I listened to.

Good luck with that. Spotify doesn't care.

This definitely should be implemented! I would like it to remember the position aswell!

I've found a solution - cancelling the Spotify subscription and switching to Apple Music! In Apple Music it's possible to set favorite that will allow to find out the stop point. Also it costs less than Spotify and has better support.

I'm happy with the decision after years when Spotify doesn't care about me as a customer, pays nothing to musicians and continue increasing prices to us.
