[All Platforms] Remember Position in Playlist / Album

Please remember the current song playing in a playlist so if I switch away to a different playlist and then switch back, Spotify will know where I left off.

I often can't finish a playlist right away or my mood changes so I might switch to a different playlist. Later, I want to finish the previous playlist, not start over again.

Hey everyone,

This idea accidentally ended up in the wrong board, so we're moving it back here.

We're keeping the Not Right Now status as we don't have any immediate plans to implement this. As soon as we have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here.

Take care.

I like putting DJ on in the evening but sometimes I go out of Spotify and then come back in to resume listening and it goes back to the first song it played that day and I have to click through all the track I already listened to before i can listen to fresh choices. This must be something you can fix? Resume from where you left off? Thanks

Spotify will not fix this.

Ever listened to an audio book or a musical or any other playlist, then showed your friend another song and completely forgot at what song you were?

I have that constantly when switching between audio books and listening to music, meaning I have to click through at least 5 book chapters to continue listening. I believe that there is an easy fix:

Remember the last listened song of the playlist/audio book and add a button "Continue playing" (for audio books that could actually be the default)

Grrr .. this should be basic for any player

Is it because you don't want us to have choice over what we play versus what you promote?

I’d like to suggest a feature that enhances the listening experience when switching between playlists. For example, if you’re playing a song from one playlist and decide to play something from another playlist, Spotify could remember the last song you were listening to in the first playlist.

When you return to that playlist, a prompt could ask if you’d like to resume where you left off. This would save time and eliminate the need to remember the song or manually search for it.

Yes exactly. After several years Spotify has not responded to these
requests and why I cancelled my subscription

I enjoy listening to multiple audiobooks or playlists without shuffle, and I would like to have the progress of each playlist saved so that I can switch between playlists.

Hello,

I use the favourite songs playlist where I have more than two thousands song. When I change for the other playlist or podcast I take a picture where I stopped in this favourite playlist. And if I want to continue there, I have to find the song in search of this playlist and than I have to scroll slowly down till i find the proper position and skip to other song for continuing in this playlist. Can you add some button for Skip in the list, etc, please?

Thank you

Vaclav

it would be great to have a feature that lets us resume a playlist from the exact song where we left off, even after listening to other content. Just like podcasts resume playback! Any chance this could be added?

It’s been several years since have been asking for this so we gave up
