[All Platforms] Remember Position in Playlist / Album

Please remember the current song playing in a playlist so if I switch away to a different playlist and then switch back, Spotify will know where I left off.

I often can't finish a playlist right away or my mood changes so I might switch to a different playlist. Later, I want to finish the previous playlist, not start over again.

Hey everyone,

This idea accidentally ended up in the wrong board, so we're moving it back here.

We're keeping the Not Right Now status as we don't have any immediate plans to implement this. As soon as we have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here.

Take care.

I just wrote this as a suggestion before coming across yours. This is really needed. I even suggested to call it Spotify Threads. kinda like having multiple

thread of music for your account and they just pause and you choose to continue whichever one you want.

Just don't get your hopes up.  This idea has been sitting here for ELEVEN years now.  They obviously don't care.

It's so frustrating that such a highly requested and practical feature is not implemented but Spotify is making bad UI changes that nobody asked for

This simple feature would allow you to search for a song that just popped into your mind. Click off of your playlist to listen to it, and then go back to your playlist as though you had never left it. This would reduce those pesky replays that we all dislike so much. But from the company's perspective it would also reduce the amount of skips necessary for people. Which they make money off of the idea of people skipping songs. Despite this ultimately keeping them from being the only music platform.

To discover new songs, I generally prefer to pick up a playlist based on a theme and listen to all the songs in that playlist. I used the ‘Liked Songs’ button to keep track of the last song I played in a playlist. The green heart sign would act as a flag. Now, with the new update that option is gone. So, I would really like to have an option of ‘adding a flag’ or a ‘bookmark’ to the last played song in a playlist.

I agree with this, I just made a similar post, but It was rejected and I was brought back to this one. I hope they make a bookmark feature with a bookmark symbol or something so we can remember where we are on a playlist or podcast!

My USB phone charger has more processing power than the guidance computer that took Apollo 11 to the moon, and you’re telling me Spotify can’t manage to make a bookmark feature for our playlists?! Get in the sea!

Kind regards,

I am amazed at how a company grossing 10 billion dollars a year is incapable or unwilling to implement basic features. It feels like the music industry back in the 80's; locked-down, controlled, not caring about consumers.

@daniellm Well said. It’s not that they can’t do it, it’s just that they won’t. This complete indifference to customer requests pisses me off, and the moment Amazon music offers a playlist bookmark feature, I’m off.
