[All Platforms] Separate Queues for Podcasts and Music

Hi there,

Would like to propose this again as it looks like related tickets were closed and not addressed.

Just want to share a concrete example on why this would be helpful... Throughout the day I'm listening to either music (while working) OR podcasts (while commuting). If I'm commuting to work, I'd like to queue up podcasts to listen to while commuting. This includes coming back to the same podcast queue when I'm commuting home from work (ie. same queue in the morning and evening). The problem is, I listen to music during the day while I'm working. So I need to clear my podcast queue and then queue everything up again after work. 

I think fixing this would increase user engagement on your apps. For example, having my podcasts on Apple podcasts is just more convenient now because I don't need to deal with this daily inconvenience. Every week, that's multiple hours of engagement per user (for a subset of podcast listeners) that you could be gaining back.

I'm a huge fan of Spotify, so I'd love to be able to seamlessly use your app over Apple Podcasts for this use case. Thanks

I already came up with an Idea like this but never get enough attention. Please someone has to see this Idea. It has to be integraeded in Spotify

The first comments on this suggestion were written 3 years ago. I have avoided podcasts on Spotify since they arrived for the very reason that this suggestion exists. How is this not prioritized? I have to assume that Spotify doesn't really care about podcasts.

It would be helpful to have a queue for podcasts that is separate from the music queue.  I tried to set up several podcast episodes in my queue, but they were wiped out when I switched to listening to music.  Without this feature, I'll go back to a separate podcast app.  Thanks

Have wanted this for years and after thinking, "Why the heck haven't they done this yet?" I googled and got this answer.  Why would I want to queue podcasts for the gym, dishes, etc., only to sit down at the desk for another round of work and have the music tick over to a podcast episode one song later?

It really is absurd that this is not solved! Will stop using Spotify for podcasts because I am getting too annoyed by this. Have in the last year been using Soundcloud to listen to music instead and stopped using Spotify for music... But now I will switch around instead becuase I don’t want to pay for Soundcloud too...

As also with other Users I also do a queue for the podcasts episodes I want to listen to. But the moment I start listening music, all these queued podcasts gets along the way and it makes both podcast and music experience rather quite bad.

It should be rather easy to differentiate between both queues - I'll probably look for another podcast player if this not offered on Spotify.

Why does Spotify not prioritize this? It seems so obvious.

I have been a faithful Spotify user for many years. I listen to a lot of music, and a lot of podcasts. 

Recently, I have given up listening to podcasts with Spotify and downloaded Apple Podcasts for this purpose. 

My life is better now, my total podcast/music listening time has increased. I no longer avoid listening to music if I have only a few minutes, for fear of losing my current spot on the podcast I was listening to or of having to find that episode again. And, vice versa, I want to continue listening from the same spot in a playlist of music as well. I will not listen to a podcast on Spotify again, unless this simple change is made. I don't know if Spotify knows this but I don't always only want to listen to the latest episode of a podcast, sometimes I'm listening to all the episodes in order.

Just have a separate queue and a separate continue playing, please Spotify.

PLEASE separate queues between Podcasts and songs! I often put much time and consideration into my Podcast queue, but then sometimes in between my time finishing it, I want to switch to music. It’s then painstaking for me to have to clear my Podcast queue (and erase all my hard work) when I’m in the mood for music.

I’ve found this has actually caused me to listen to music LESS, because I don’t want to erase my Podcast queue.

I’ve even gone so far as to start to move my music or Podcast experience to other platforms (like Amazon or YouTube) just so I can separate them.
