[All Platforms] Song Recycle Bin - Deleted songs recovery

You may accidentally erase a precious song on your playlist. Whilst spotify has an option to recover an accidentally deleted playlist, you can't recover a specific song. Whenever you make this kinds of mistakes unless you know the specific song you erased obviously.

Vote if you want a "Deleted songs Recycle Bin" or so, a place where you can search through a history of deleted songs and restore them to where they were before deleting them

Story: As the title says. I have a large library of awesome songs and i often look for some specific songs during other activities eg. work or playing games. I tend to this asap so i am distracted as little as possible. From time to time i "miss click" and click on little heart instead of three dots or play button. Same happens when i want to explore artist / album playing right now in bottom right corner. As a result i am loosing some songs sometimes without even knowing it. After some time Spotify tend to recommend me those songs back.

Solution proposal: Last x unliked or unliked from x days songs list i could review for any miss clicks. Feature could be disabled by default or hidden as probably some folks might want to be stealthy with that.

Subject: Feature suggestion: Recycle Bin/Trash folder for playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks

Dear Spotify Team,

I'm writing to you today as a senior software engineer and a Spotify family premium member with a suggestion for a new feature that I believe would significantly improve the user experience.

Proposal: Implement a Recycle Bin or Trash folder within the Spotify app. This folder would temporarily store playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks that users have deleted. Users would then have the option to restore these deleted items within a certain timeframe (e.g., 30 days) before they are permanently removed.

Benefits:

  • Prevents accidental deletion: This feature would provide a safety net for users who accidentally delete playlists, podcasts, or audiobooks.
  • Improves user experience: The ability to restore deleted content would be a major convenience and reduce frustration for users.
  • Increased user satisfaction: Having more control over their content would likely lead to a more positive user experience.

Implementation Considerations:

  • Time limit for restoration: There should be a set timeframe for how long deleted items remain in the Recycle Bin before they are permanently removed.
  • Visibility: The Recycle Bin should be easily accessible but not intrusive within the app's interface.
  • Functionality: The Recycle Bin should allow for easy restoration of individual items or entire playlists.

Additional Notes:

As a family premium member, I value the ability to share playlists with my family. The Recycle Bin would be particularly beneficial in this context as it would allow anyone who accidentally deletes a shared playlist to restore it quickly.

I believe this feature would be a valuable addition to the Spotify platform and would be appreciated by many users.Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely, All the Best,

Kindest and Warmest Regards

Cheers!

Dear Spotify Team,

I am writing as a Senior Software Engineer to express my strong recommendation for the implementation of a Trash feature across all Spotify applications on various platforms.

Currently, there is a significant risk for users who accidentally delete content from their Spotify libraries. This can lead to frustration and inconvenience, especially when valuable playlists or songs are unintentionally removed.

Introducing a Trash feature would provide users with a safety net, allowing them to recover deleted items within a reasonable timeframe. This would greatly enhance the overall user experience and reduce the likelihood of accidental data loss.

I believe that the development and implementation of a Trash feature would be a valuable addition to Spotify's services. It is a relatively straightforward feature that would benefit a large number of users.

Thank you for considering this feedback.

Sincerely,

Kindest and Warmest Regards,

Pooya Mohammadhossein

Recently my kid had access to the phone and could accidently deleted some songs from Liked songs.

So it would be really helpful to have full log or history of the actions so I could track down such changes
