As a Spotify coordinator for several electronic music artists I have often been asked why releases on which they are featured do not appear in their main discography or stats.
The idea is: Somehow to credit featured artists similar to how remixers are credited ? in terms of the effect on their stats (stream counts, monthly listeners)
These featured artists deserve to be more visible and gain more recognition for their involvement on a specific release or track. Releases/tracks on which they are featured should somehow become a more prominent part of their stats.
This is also important seen in the light of Spotify atm not being able to have more thant 3 main artists credited for a release (product level).
An example is the recently released dance music track 'Play' by artists Alan Walker, Mangoo, Tungevaag and K-319. Due to Spotify only allowing 3 main artist Mangoo has not been able to recieve a deserved 'main artist' crediting for this release. Despite his important involvement 'Play' being a modern take on his popular year 2000 release 'Eurodancer'.
This has a negative impact on Mangoo's stats, stream counts as well as his monthly listeners count. Sadly an unfair treatment by the Spotify system.
