[All Platforms] "Don't Like Button" should be added to all sections

Hello everyone,

I am not sure why it keeps changing between updates, although in the past Daily Mixes have the Like & Dislike button. But this time around it has been completely removed and is only available Under Your Weekly Discovery.

It would be nice if the "Don't Like Button" was added everywhere, from Weekly Discovery, Daily Mixes, even when searching specific songs, albums, genres etc. to better filter our music preferences.

Also I find on Android on the drop down menu the Don't like button rarely ever works and have to enter the app directly. Like always works perfectly fine.

I would appreciate it if this could be considered.

Thank you

I have been a Premium Spotify subscriber for long time now. I don't not want to wait any longer for a "Dislike Button" Or a remove from Que Option. I will be changing my music provider altogether.

Hi there,
Any updates on this topic? It reached over 5k likes, yet there seems to have been no updates since 2019? This was over 5 years ago. Don't you think it's about time to implement a simple feature like this?

cold_wind

What kind of crazy idea is this to remove the 'dislike' button?!
I just don't like certain songs and I don't want them to ever come to me as suggestions - never again.
What are these crazy ideas of the current world to like everything!?

My Question or Issue

Forward this to the PO's/dev teams:

- Add easy to use permanent "block song" feature (3 dots -> block song)
- Add easy to use permanent "block artist" feature (3 dots -> block artist)
- Add toggle button in the options "radio allowed to repeat songs: yes/no"
- Add toggle button in the options "after playlist completion repeat songs in following mix: yes/no"
- If you want to keep the "Remove from queue" feature, fine. Then add a toggle button in the options: "permanently remove songs from any queue if this feature is used: yes/no"

And last but not least: Less mixes, more radios with completely new and fresh songs. No repeating allowed.

Thanks

PS: Your project owners and research teams should already know about all of this. It's been requested for years. Yet in the forums only generic answers from your side are being posted. I'm tired of this.

It's insane that such a simple feature has not been implemented in the literal half a decade since the original post.

I get it, you're a small indie company that makes barely any money and can't afford to pay someone to work on this, not when your CEO needs a third yacht or whatever naturally, but maybe some day you'll be able to scrounge up the cash to implement a basic feature like disliking a song throughout the platform.  Here's hoping.

My suggestions for Spotify:

How is it that after my having listened to tens of thousands of songs through Spotify & having hearted / liked thousands of tracks in the app, Spotify still doesn’t know what type of music I love & dislike? It should be crystal clear I’m not a fan of crappy top 40 music, & absolutely zero interest in a new Taylor Swift release… yet still the main page is full of this **bleep**.

Yet on the same time, the app bizarrely does a surprisingly decent job when it comes to selecting songs & artists to auto play in the style of whatever it is I’m listening to. Which tells me the app certainly has the ability to know what types of music I prefer, yet for whatever odd reason, continues to fail horribly with its new album & artist recommendations.

By now the app should know precisely what I like & do not. And if this is too difficult for Spotify to figure out, then simply provide users the ability to disable entire genres or sub-genres of music. This could be done via a questionnaire. Provide us with a list of music genres & sub-genres, & allow us to mark which ones we love & hate…

Any music that falls into the genres marked ‘Love’ should be prioritized by the app, whereas any music categorized under the genres marked ‘Hate’ should never be shown or suggested again.

And for those who don’t hate or love entire genres or sub-genres of music, just provide an option for users to ‘Block Artist’ & ‘Stop Suggesting / Playing This Genre’… and have these options easily accessible from anywhere in the app.

I could go on about some of the numerous other blatant oversights & nonsensical features (or lack there of) with the app, but that evidently doesn’t get users anywhere (as evidenced by the endless number of app feature requests with thousands of upvotes).

After years of this being a 'Good idea' can you implement this, or stop lying to everyone? I am honestly thinking about cancelling my Premium subscription and moving to other platforms that have this option.

The ability to indicate "Not Interested" on a particular content item seems to appear arbitrarily. The option to mark something (song, album, podcast, audiobook, etc.) should always be available.

5 years later.

If you search "dislike" in this forum you get several pages of results. This feature is more wanted than is represented by this single ticket.

Guys. Listen to your users. BEYOND THAT, use pragmatic thinking. Avoiding "negative" stuff for the sake of avoiding it doesn't change reality. People don't like all songs or artists. Let them express that. It will provide a BETTER EXPERIENCE for your users.

It's infuriating that half a decade after this ticket (and who knows how many others) this still hasn't been implemented. Pandora had dislike on day one, and that was over a decade ago.

I'm an app developer. Pay me to come fix this, I'll have it done in a week.

whys there still no dislike button in 2024? i swear i posted or voted an idea just like this a week ago!
