[Amazon Echo] Alexa controls via Spotify Connect

There should be a way for any Echo to control a remote spotify connect.

say my speaker that has spotify connect and is playing Elvis. I should be able to use any Echo to change that remote speakers playlist,song,artist etc. The new playlist, song, artist etc will start be playing on that remote spotify connect but controlled by any Echo.

Please implement this. I honestly thought this was already a feature. It seems like it'd be relatively straight forward to achieve?

I bought an echo dot hoping this feature would exist. I'm hoping Spotify will implement this soon. I've got a feeling Amazon won't be keen if they've got some kind of deal with Sonos for multi device/multi room. Maybe that's why it hasn't happened...

Amazon should be keen in my opinion and Spotify as well!

Amazon support recently told me that multiroom on Amazon devices is not planned at all, indepent whether for Spotify or Amazon music.

I have no idea why they don't implement it, or why they don't let Spotify support it.

Google home nicely plays google music in multiroom on multiple google homes, Chromecasts and Google Cast Receivers.

If nothing happens soon this will leave my 4 Panasonic All Spotify speakers as well as my two Amazon Echos in an Ebay auction... and I'll get two Google Homes, and some chromecasts instead... The release in Germany is 8th of August. So time to act Amazon and Spotify... 😕

I would love to see this feature coming. Finaly I could get rid of the poor quality Bluetooth streaming from alexa and use the high quality Spotify connect function with my Receiver 🙂

Why can't I vote on this?  I'm logged into Spotify in this same browser session; I can do other things to manage my account, but not vote on this. 😞

It is coming, but the devices have to support it. See here:

Denon/Marantz will support it and also Onkyo/Pioneer will support it via DTS Play-Fi. I'm not sure, if there is a direct Spotify Connect support. That would be really great!

Use this Alexa skill (https://www.amazon.com/Lawrence-Thorpe-Connect-Control-Spotify/dp/B074KFNWFD) to transfer or play on Spotify Connect device.
