Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

The totally one-sided relationship spotify has with its users needs to change or im changing services. id wager the majority of people involved in making this decision personally use apple devices and have no idea what they actually directed their company to change.

Hey guys, about that widget that vanished between me rocking out yesterday and trying to jam today, yeah man bad idea. Very inconvenient and also unnecessary change. Seriously thinking about sliding back over to tidal, convenience is pretty important to me and from the looks of it many others who are using you service. I find it amazing that you guys have a vote forum to try to bring it back but didn't do one to remove a feature that so many people obviously use daily. "Hey guys let take the widget, I think theyll really love that." Not!  Please bring that back we would realy appreciate it.

I am baffled by the removal of the widget for this app. It is a very poor decision to remove an optional interface that makes an app worth having and more so to pay for.  If the next update does not bring it back,  I will just cancel my subscription and go elsewhere...

Bring back the old App as a additional app. So we can choose from ur fancy updates or the classic features

I literally use the widget every single day, and I use it to control music from my phone and on my smart speakers in the house.

Now I feel like I have a gaping hole in my life, just like my homescreen on my phone...

This is something Spotify should address same way as Microsoft did with the person responsible for getting rid of the start menu/button in Windows 8. Someone needs to get fired.
