Bring back "New episodes"

You removed New Episodes from our home library and said it would be under Podcasts, but it's not. Now I have to go through every single podcast to find the new episodes.

It's all in the title - I want every single suggestion on here to be "bring back the new episodes feed" until they have to do it. I'm so annoyed about then removing a go-to feature that I use literally every day

Seriously. The new way is AWFUL. I have to scroll past everything (including already played episodes) to find something to listen to. And if I want to stop on the middle and switch to another show or music - good luck going back and finding the last one listened to again. I’m begging- bring back the old functionality. The new one is not an option and I will find alternative platforms if this is not fixed soon.

The functionality of where they moved the podcasts to is horrid. Scrolling through everything single show (of which I have many) with no option to remove or delete episodes regardless of if the episode is already marked finished?!? Who thought that was a good idea? Want to take a break and skip to another show or song? Good luck finding the show you were listening to before. I spend hours of Spotify and it’s not just for music. Honestly, if this continues and isn’t fixed, I will find another platform and take my business (and podcasts) over there.

Moving the new episodes to the home screen / following page is not the problem, the problem is not hiding Played or Finished episodes.  I have quite a few podcasts I listen to, and some of them I give priority to over others, and some episodes I will skip if I am not interested.  Please don't make me scroll past all the podcasts in an endless list to figure out what I want to listen to next.

Hide Finished Podcasts!!!

New episodes was the most useful feature, why on earth remove this? Makes me much less likely to listen to podcasts in general...

I’ve been a loyal Spotify user for years, clocking in nearly 100,000 minutes of listening annually—most of it through podcasts and carefully curated playlists. So it’s not lightly that I say this: the latest app update is the most frustrating and disruptive change I’ve ever experienced on your platform.

Removing the “New Episodes” playlist and replacing it with the “Following” tab has made podcast discovery and tracking nearly impossible. I follow many shows and selectively listen based on interest, but without the ability to hide finished or skipped episodes, my feed is now an unusable mess.

This doesn’t just feel like poor design—it feels like an intentional move to bury the content I care about under algorithm-driven or monetized suggestions. I’m now considering unfollowing all podcasts just to regain some control, which surely isn’t in Spotify’s interest—especially when it includes your own house-produced shows.

Worse still, this update feels less like a redesign meant to help users and more like a deliberate push to make the content we actually want harder to access, while promoting influencer-driven or monetized material. If that’s the direction Spotify is heading, it’s hard not to feel sidelined as a long-term, paying subscriber.

At the very least, you should add a filter for unplayed episodes or allow sorting by show in the feed. These are basic usability features that would give listeners essential control over how we navigate our podcast subscriptions.

When podcast creators ask me to “follow for updates,” my answer used to be yes. Now, it’s absolutely not. This change has made me reconsider how I listen entirely—and if things stay this way, I’ll be leaving the platform.

Unless this is addressed—whether by restoring the “New Episodes” playlist or by giving users proper filtering and management options—I’ll be seriously reconsidering my subscription.

Please don’t ignore feedback from your most dedicated users. This isn’t a minor inconvenience—it’s breaking the core experience for many of us. I’ll have to look elsewhere for a podcast platform that actually respects usability.

Please escalate this feedback. This is a dealbreaker.

This isn't really a new idea, it was working perfectly until the last update frustratingly removed it.

All I want is a list of all the new unplayed episodes of podcasts that I'm subscribed to.

Moving my new podcast episodes from library to the home feed, sure that was unnecessary and a bit stupid imo, but I'll live with it.

But the fact that now it's just showing all episodes and not hiding the ones already played, and not giving me any way of changing that - that's extremely frustrating and makes it super difficult to go through now.

Please revert this change ASAP, this has made it worse than YouTube for me.

Please if returning the "new episodes" section in the library is not up for debate, at least give us the option to filter out finished episodes.

The last positive change I remember was the playback speed slider. Since then every change feels like a straight up regression. With the ability to remove single entries from the current queue and the option to view only new episodes now missing, the app quality took a big hit.

If Spotify keeps the new Podcasts>Following tab option, they need to at least add a filter to hide finished episodes - in it's current state it's just a chaotic content dump that's insanely irritating to sort through for new episodes you've not yet listened to.

Agree with everything on here. I use New Episodes every day and now have to check each podcast separately.

It's an insane change, why change something that everybody likes, no one was asking for this. I also am looking at other providers as this change has made using Spotify incredibly frustrating.
