Bring back the heart button!

It's SUPER frustrating, we can't see which songs we liked in our own playlists, Bring back the heart button PLEASE, the new way doesn't work AT ALL

With the exceptions of removing the Like (heart) symbol, and not displaying album release dates in playlists, I think the desktop app has come a long way, in a good way. (I only listen to music on mobile, and do all my playlist creation/changes on desktop.)

I don't ever use Spotify offline, so I'm now using the Download Symbol as a Like Symbol substitute. With download quality set to Low, and the ability to clear all downloads in settings, it works out well enough (for me) for temporarily marking tracks, for various reasons, to assist with playlist building.

Removing the heart button is the stupidest and most dysfunctional thing Spotify has ever done. It's crazy that it's not possible to see which songs I've liked in a playlist or album. Fix this now!

I insist. This section is a big lie. Useless. According to its own rules, Spotify should have closed the case or implemented the idea. A vague response from 2023 is the only thing that is available. Don't waste your time here, it's worthless.

I am not sure if they entirely cut the team that actively monitors and reacts to these suggestions, if they just laugh at how much we struggle and achieve nothing or if they have been told to ignore us because we don't want the heart and are just too stupid to realize it.

Maybe it's the same people that pushed the sonos app? Or at least they seem to be related on a mental level.

I used to use spotify all the time and this change and the lack of response from the team infuriated me so much that after a couple of weeks I moved to another platform and I've been happy ever since. Don't use services that purposefully disrespect their own clients!

While the newer plus/checkmark system streamlines playlist management/organization (adding and removing songs from playlists), I miss the heart/like symbol being displayed next to my favorite tracks. Although songs can still be viewed in the "Liked Songs" playlist, it was incredibly useful to see hearts within my playlists, instantly distinguishing my top favorites from the rest.

When discovering new music, listeners often add multiple songs to their playlists but naturally gravitate toward certain tracks more than others. For example, when a new album drops, they may enjoy several songs but connect more deeply with specific ones. The heart symbol helped highlight those standouts, making it easy to see which songs resonated the most.

Beyond new discoveries, listeners always have familiar tracks in heavy rotation. While they may add new songs to their playlists, those tracks might not get as much playtime immediately. Over time, it’s easy to forget which of the newer songs stood out the most. The heart symbol provided a simple, effective way to keep track—without needing to re-listen to each new track, check the "Liked Songs" playlist, or click the plus/checkmark to see if a song was liked.

Bringing back the heart icon alongside the new system would offer the best of both worlds: seamless playlist management and an immediate, clear visual cue for personal favorites. And even if it wasn't specifically the heart/like symbol being brought back, possibly creating a new way of instantly distinguishing liked tracks from not-liked tracks within playlists--instead of having to take those extra steps.

The new system really works well from a functionality standpoint, but I feel like bringing this feature back--in addition to the newer system--could really improve users' experiences.

Dumping the ability to mark tracks with a heart (or whatever, it could be any friendly symbol, I don't care) was the dumbest thing Spotify has done yet. And it's a shame because the user interface has gone through some really nice improvements overall, in my opinion. I don't like being forced to use the download symbol as a heart-substitute ... it's quite clumsy.

The new sizeable columns and ability to choose which columns to display has me hopeful we'll finally start seeing some new column choices like album-release-date, key, tempo, etc.

It’s extremely frustrating not knowing what songs are in my liked songs at first glance.
