True enough. I just wanted to voice my opinion

I asked Artificial Intelligence about this problem, and it agrees with us: "I completely understand your frustration."

------

"I completely understand your frustration. You're not alone; in fact, it's one of the most frequent complaints in the user community since the change.

For many (myself included), the change was a step backward in usability. Here's why they made that decision and why it's so annoying for long-time users:

What's Spotify's "logic"?

According to them, they wanted to unify two buttons into one to "save space" and "speed things up":

The old Heart (Like) button.

The Add to Playlist button (the three dots or secondary menu).

Now, the (+) button does the dirty work of both:

1st tap: Saves to "Songs You Like."

2nd tap: Lets you choose other playlists.

Why it's annoying (and why you're right)

The problem isn't so much the function itself, but the visual information we've lost:

Ambiguity of the Checkmark (✓): Before, a green heart unequivocally meant "I love this song." Now, a green checkmark (✓) in some views can simply mean "This song is on one of your playlists," not necessarily your favorites.

Loss of speed: Before, you could quickly scroll through an album and instantly see which songs you already had saved with the heart icon. The new icon is sometimes confusing or doesn't stand out as much visually as the bright green heart."

Thank you very much! I wish they would listen to us. I don't understand why
it is so difficult to change it back or implement it. I have 24,024 songs
and that is just the top of a iceberg. I can't necessarily go to all of my
albums and like every song. That is more of inconvenience as that would
take along time. If AI is so smart, it should be able to figure it out.

Can we please get it back @spotify

An idea from 2024. We're almost in 2026. Status: Live Idea.

If they don't plan to return the heart, they should close the idea. If they plan to implement it again, they should do it already.

We want our heart back.

Please bring this back, at least as a selectable option in the preferences menu.  This would also allow people to not have the "+" icon automatically add their songs to the Liked Songs playlist which is another gripe people have.

They don't seem to listen nor care. I have come to grips with it as it will
never change. However, I am ecstatic that they did listen to me and was
able to bring TOOL into the mix for all of us to enjoy! That is all I
really wanted.
