[Account] Change Username

I know this is probably out there somewhere already, but I find it quite frustrating that I was assigned a "username" of lots of numbers when my account was created.  It makes it hard for people to find me, as I can't remember my username, let alone try to get them to.  Can we please make it an option to change our username?  Even if there is a once-a-year change or something...that would be such a helpful thing!

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea.


Your username is designed to identify you on Spotify, so it can’t change.
However, you can now add or change your display name on mobile!
A display name replaces the username where it shows on your profile, app, playlists, and Friend Activity.

If you contact Spotify Support Live Chat they can help you create a new account with your preferred username and transfer all your data from your own account to the new account. They will help you transfer your subscription and everything else.

I just dont undestand why you can not gives us the choice to simple change our username. I just dont like mine, created many years ago but dont sympathise with it anymore. 

I took you years to finally implement changing profile picture, will that be the same?

Some people say to make a new account but I have a premium account and friends and people who follow me aaand of course the playlists! I don't have time for all this converting!

There is no way that you can change your username of your current account, but you can make an other account but you will lose everything and will need to make your playlists, etc again.

This absolutely absurd, "were marking this for not right now," yet a ridiculuous amount of users want this. Keep up the "not right now" nonsense and watch your users disappear to other streaming services.

Sacrifice Spotify because "they won't let me change my username" is indeed quite ridiculuous, yes.
