[Connect] [Kids] Add Spotify Connect support for Spotify Kids

When playing music through Spotify Kids, it is not possible to cast the music to a Google Chromecast audio device. This has lead to many conversations revolving around “but why can’t I put my dance party on the stereo”, and so we have to go back to the main Spotify app to get said dance party going and avert the tears 😀And with the kids stuck at home on account of school closures and lockdowns, there are a lot of dance parties happening. And they much prefer the app geared towards them than the regular app. Because the Spotify Connect feature is already implemented in the main Spotify app, it should be implemented also in the Spotify Kids app to have the same connectivity options.

Tanjou from the Escalations Team - Spotify Customer Support has told me " Spotify Connect  feature is not compatible with the Spotify Kids  app. We understand how popular this feature request is but we can not do it " via email on 10/23/24. So I wouldn't waste your time waiting on them because they said they understand how we would like this feature and have no plans to bring it to us.

Ofcourse it's not currently compatible, that's the point, MAKE IT COMPATIBLE. That is such a nonsense response!

Yeah Its sad, They are aware that is an easy port over of code but they don't want to do it. So I say we force their hand to do it. Share this page on Facebook, X, wherever you think there will be ppl who will upvote the idea so we can get it. Because if you look in the Terms of Spotify kids the connect feature is already mentioned in there. There is no way that since 2010 we are still asking for such a simple thing. They know how popular this request is and refuse to do it. So force their hand to do it.

This needs to be added asap. Got my son an Alexa for Xmas but it won't let me connect his child Spotify account to it and instead it uses mine and interrupts my listening. I don't see a point continuing to pay for family Spotify if this isn't resolved.

When using the kids Amazon Dot to play music to aid them to sleep, it means I can’t listen to my own podcasts. I’ve downloaded the kids Spotify app which looks good, however, I can not play it through their speakers on separate accounts. Please can this feature be made available?

Such a shame. I'd buy the family plan right now for the kid account but there's no point since I can't connect it to Alexa. They're ignoring an easy fix that'd make them more money and their customers happy.
