[Connect] Multiple Speakers / Devices simultaneously

Now that connect is becoming available it would be nice to be able to connect to multiple outputs at the same time. For example I have 2 connect compatable speakers... it'd be great to have these in different parts of my house and be able to stream the same music to both.

I would suggest a maximum of 3 devices at the same time. This will allow for most scenarios to be catered for without streatching the bandwidth too much that it will degrade quality.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange.

We've discussed this idea and while it is interesting, we aren't able to prioritize it and don't have any immediate plans to implement this. We will let you know if this changes in the future.

If we do have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

More info on why your idea has been closed can be found here.

How can we vote for this?

You use to be able to do a grouping of any Bluetooth devices and just select that group in the Spotify app and it would play to all Bluetooth devices in that group simultaneously. So don't know why it was removed and why it has to be voted on when it was already doable within the app a year ago.

+1. This would be a game changer.

I recently had a house party. I have two different brands of wifi based speakers ( Sonos and Samsung) and I was able to play music through Spotify to one or the other but not both at the same time. It would be perfect if I could play music through multiple Wi-Fi devices regardless of the brand.

Why is this in "Not Right Now" status? Can it be changed?

You guys shouldn't underscore the utility of this feature. While most will not make their way to this page - I think nearly all Spotify users would appreciate this.

Very short sighted.  I have begun to figure out my streaming music plan 2.0 ("beyond spotify") as portable speakers are everywhere and we should be able to stream throughout our house and backyard.

Yes fully agree with you!

It is time now Spotify to implement this as this would gain us users with a awesome multiroom experience but also position you as a company ahead of competition...

I like Spotify and have been a premium subscriber for years but I don"t use it much as it will not connect to more than one endpoint at a time. I have multiple end points between iPhones, iPads, Tvs, streamers, separate speakers all of which are Spotify Connect compatible, but I can only connect to one at at time. Many are wired, some are obviously wireless like iPhone.. Since Spotify will not connect to Roon which is my default Music source, I mostly use it in the car but after all these years would like you to add this feature. If you can connect to a Sonos system with multi room capacity, why not Roon or better yet, allow it just in Spotify.

i also would like to have the option to send music to more than one speaker.

of course i could use other apps to do this - but why spotify doesn't want to do this?? not even for premium users? 😠
