[Connect] Option to deactivate Spotify Connect

I want to have the opption to turn it off. Please fix this, i wan't to listen to music and still be online without connect starts.

Please fix this.

Från en trogen användare sedan år tillbaka 🙂

Hey everyone,

It seems that this idea ended up in the wrong board accidentally, so we're bringing it back.

We're keeping the Not Right Now status, as we don't have any immediate plans to implement this. As soon as we have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here.

Take care.

We have a family account and a Sonos System... I´d like using the Spotify app (instead of Sonos controller) and stream on the Sonos devices in my lokal network. My daughter has her own mobil device (Android) and shouldn´t be able to play the music on the Sonos system. I tried to disable Spotify Connect on their mobile phone... But I still can see all Sonos speaker in the Spotify app... Can I disable?

Please, I just want to be able to listen to a podcast or workout music on my phone and work music on my laptop without constantly verifying which device is activated and then manually find what was playing before. I'll even pay for this feature if that's an incentive 😉.

I think I figured it out. Their incentive is that you could solve it by
having more subscriptions 😞 I think it's really bad on their part

I hate connect automatically linking devices when it shouldn't.
I've been working in Gibraltar and gone to play music and it played in the home living room, or tried to link to the car.
Make this optional!!!
YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR MY LISTENING EXPERIENCE!!!!

Half the time when I hit play on my phone it decides to play on my computer (why??). I've literally never once wanted this (who has??) If you're not willing to get rid of Connect, at least give it useful defaults?

This is a minor annoyance, but on Spotify Desktop, every single time a person opens the program, they will get a blue popup that says, "Connect to a Device" in the bottom righthand corner of the app. It must be manually closed out of.

I've had Spotify for 6 years - I know how to connect to a device! I dont need a popup showing it every time I open the program.

It's frustrating as well because I've been traveling and staying in Airbnb's for the last year, and so the answer is always no, I do not want to connect to these random devices. The same goes for anyone opening Spotify in a coffee shop, in their workplace, in a home with others...I just can't fathom why Spotify would make it so this popup appears every time the program is opened. No, I do not want to connect my Spotify to the neighbors Playstation 4, and I never will.

Please turn this popup notification off, or at least add some guardrails so it only appears once every month or something. Thank you!

I really want to be able to listen to my focus playlist on my computer, get in my car and play my road tunes and then get back to my computer and pick up my focus tunes without having to restart the playlist every time. Why is this not an optional feature? WHY?

I cannot stress the number of times that I've listened to Spotify on my drive to work, only to login to my computer, press play on the Spotify Desktop app, and blast my loud music in a quiet office. Not only is this extremely embarrassing, it incentivizes me to use other methods to listen to my music in order to prevent this from happening. Spotify is unintentionally selling me on CDs with this.

100% agree. I've regularly blasted out music on my laptop interrupting my wife's calls, while I'm out for a walk getting annoyed that my podcast isn't playing on my phone.

In what universe is this rubbish a remotely good user experience?!

Spotify Connect is the reason I cancelled my subscription. It is such an annoying feature and I don't understand, why they won't allow you to disable it. It would be simple enough to implement a solution to opt out, but they just decide to ignore all the people who are requesting this possibility and therefor possibly losing paying customers.
