Continue Everynoise

everynoise.com is an invaluable exploration of Spotify genres, and the only place to see complete Friday releases with genre cross-references. Without it, much new music goes unheard.

The Spotify employee, glenn mcdonald, who maintained this was let go in recent round of layoffs.

Everynoise is no longer getting data feeds (beyond basic api) and New Releases may not happen.

Please make everynoise functions supported. I would prioritize New Releases.

I really miss it.

It was the only way to check what specific genra a song was classified as on Spotify.

Now there doesn't seem to be any way to do it. So finding music of really really specific genes are impossible. It's also impossible to identify knew genras that you didn't previously know about.

Starting to consider using an other music subscription so I can actually find new genras and know what they are.

the recently released Every Sound is an everynoise.com app for ios / iphone

not sure if the data set is any more up to date, but it's a great UI UX

For those coming back to this thread and unaware, Glenn eventually made a tool that is slightly more complicated, definitely more time-consuming - it takes me a few hours to get everything I want from it - but it should give you similar data to the old New Releases by Genre page

there's also a great tool to browse new releases by labels  https://everynoise.com/nrbl.cgi

Thank you for this!

Thanks for the shout out freebairn! I'm the dev behind EverySound and a huge fan of Glenn's work. For anyone on iOS / MacOS who's had a chance to check the app out, I've gone ahead and added a New Releases page for each genre that should simplify staying up to date with releases (albums / singles) based on each genre's artists. I'm planning on keeping it updated with the latest releases weekly!
