If i hate a song, then I don't want to hear it ever again. All of us run into this on an hourly basis. Every single day. Why in the world cant we dislike (or thumb down) a song to remove it from existence? Why do you torture us by playing songs we don't want to hear?

There is a "hide" option (only on mobile), and its playlist specific. The desktop version doesn't even have this somewhat-useless feature.

So I vote for a universal dislike button. No playlist limitations. No desktop vs mobile limitations. No buttons hidden in submenus. Just a simple, easily accessible button that can eliminate our headaches once and for all.

The thought is a good Idea.

A problem is some recommended songs are not what I am interested in "at the moment" or don't fit the chosen list. Often a good song is in a good play list that doesn't fit the mood. A simple thumbs down might block it from other lists. A delete/block from my account/library might work for a tune that I never want to hear again. A drop down choice could help. (Block/skip in this list) (Block/skip from my account).

Also when a list is completed, Often the recommended following music doesn't sync well with my chosen list . Some option would be nice but complicated.

I appreciate being introduced to new music, The AI bot hasn't learned how to choose music similar to my choices very well.

A dislike or even remove from playlist button would be so helpful! I have so many songs that I also just 'kinda' like, so I don't want them added to every playlist or Made For You and wish I could remove them. Most of the time, the 'hide' option on mobile doesn't even work, so I think a dislike or remove button would be better and more accessible. There's even space next to the like button. I agree there shouldn't be so many disparities between mobile and desktop too, really just layout.

Agreed when I'm working out and smart shuffle puts on some stupid song. I want to be able to make sure it and ones like it don't come on. Instead of skipping it, just for it to come on 4 songs later...

absolutely, im sure that this has always been a well supported suggestion. ive been wishing for such an update since 2022 now. its kind of disappointing that this hasnt been done so far ...

Seeing all the above - we now seem to have playlists where most of the songs are those i have picked in the last few weeks. Suggested playlists need to be new or similar not the same as.

As for dislike - yes bring it back. Spotify managed to connect my rescent history with some random user adding a few hunderd artists I have have heard of and these keep popping up in suggestions or follow on plays.
I want to explicitly say "never ever play this artist again, dont show their concerts, merch, or other information, until I like one of their songs".

I pay for this service, so I should be able to say what I like and dont like. By all means have a "try something new" to push what at time feels like sponsored content, but let me decide if I want to check it out.

I like the Idea and would add a drop down choice IE, + Like / %Not on this list / -X- Never want to hear this again.

If the AI bots were paying attention it could also help them create new lists. I wonder if the artists would appreciate the help?or not? Do they have any say on the choices?

Not to mention, the weekly mix frequently shows up a band with the same name as a band I listen to but from the wrong genre. The bands should be recognised by the algorithm through identifiers and not by name. I bet if a dislike button shows up and I dislike this other band, I will get less of the band I listen to.

If they do that because of "featuring" stuff, then the "feat" joined "artist" should point to all the individual artist identifiers

There are several artists that keep cropping up on my stream that I would happily never hear again in my life and I would live to eliminate these for ever.

I keep looking for  a "Do Not Show Me This Artist In Future" or "Never Queue This Song Again" option, but to no avail

Or even, in order to influence one's profile, something along the opposite to the existing, where I can show that I "Like This Songs" I might instead be able to "I Dislike This Song" (or Artist).

Thank you for considering this

Sincerely,

Giles

Your new AI DJ is not a bad option, I have been using it for a while now. But what I'm finding, if I skip a song/track it's because I DONT LIKE IT, not because I want to here it again 2-3 sets later cause I might like it then.

Give me an option like a X or something to press so I never here that song again. It also needs a better algorithm toward sounds of songs, not just artists or years the music comes from. People like music for it's sounds not the year it come from. So an option to not play a track EVER AGAIN would be perfect.

Add this basic feature in, sucks that Spotify sees themselves so far above the competition they stopped caring about giving their users useful features.
