Delete Recent History when Account Hacked

My wife's account was recently hacked. This happened while her father passed away. Music was something they bonded over, so when he died she stopped listening to music.

Last night she finally decided to try the new DJ function only to find that when her account was hacked, the hackers used her account for some time. Their music tastes were 100% the opposite to what she ordinarily listens to. So, she stopped listening again.

While it feels like a violation (because it is), and Spotify have poor security as it is around someone's account, what gets me is that there's no way to reverse this. We can't go back and delete the history these hackers created. I understand that sometimes people's music tastes change, or they accidentally listen to something and want it removed. But when it's someone who's hacked your account - something entirely out of your control and that Spotify should be more willing to assist the proper account holder with - then why can't you just go into someone's archive and remove a portion of their play history?

For people who's accounts are hacked, this should be a standard offering. Not something I should be "posting an idea" for. Music is something that is incredibly special to every user. To have their accounts violated like this, and then be told "ignore it - the algorithm will eventually sort itself out again" seems just... wrong.

When will Spotify be able to protect accounts enough to not require this good idea? If Spotify can't be bothered to keep our PAID accounts safe, at least protect the data you rely on. We're now skewed datasets. That can't help you sell to advertisers!

I'm having the exact same issue. My account was hacked and I didn't notice for a few days, and now my entire algorithm is thrown off. It's creating playlists and stations for music I have zero desire to listen to. It's almost enough to keep me away from the platform. Being able to erase the songs that the hacker listened to would be such an easy fix for this, and its ridiculous that thats not an option.

Same issue here, my account was hacked on my birthday a few days ago and while it was only for a few hours, overall i don’t really stream music frequently enough for it to not completely mess up my algorithm 😞
