[Desktop] Bring back Lyrics

Allow me to re-edit again, in premise, that thanks to all of you this idea keeps receiving votes, and I am grateful to each of you, and when I expressed this desire as an idea I was a newbie, I owe to the professionality of Marco and Toku, whom I thank again, that I became aware that this idea it’s by no means new, nor even mine but Spotify’s, yet it is properly expressed, and it is shared by enough Community members for it to be still alive, and I agree with Arcanscape that, "We really need the lyrics feature", and I just notice an excellent temporary alternative of “SpotifyLyrics” kindly programmed and provided by Mirth (fr31): https://github.com/fr31/spotifylyrics/releases (via scoobyTdog), it works very well on my Pc 🙂 and I invite you all to try it.

Whilst singing might be fun, I have another approach to lyrics and sound, which is of course not mutually exclusive, and I read the words to see if I like them as I enjoy the melody, if I see myself in the lyrics, if I share the values expressed, and this is easier by having the words at hand.

So please Spotify bring back the Lyrics Feature most elegantly -- as you did with restyling the Community -- when you find a better Lyrics Provider.

Reading and listening might be even better than karaoke, although not as fun 😉

and every member could always do both, even just singing, as a very close person in my family does, and many other people do.

Thank you for evaluating, with my warmest and most sincere Regards.

Marco, a poet at heart

This needs to be fixed immediately.  This is something I'd actually unsubscribe over when you combine it with the already awful performance of the desktop app.  Spotify has about a week to clear this up before I just swap to another service that can manage to stream music without choking out a 30mb connection every time it loads another song and hasn't randomly decided a suspension of their lyrics service was acceptable.

Edited: 6/7  I have unsubscribed.   I won't be checking back.  Later Spotify.

FIX IT SOFORT

I'm deactivating my subscription and using Deezer until the new provider is implemented.

While I do think they are working on it, I also want them to know that every day without a lyrics feature also has a cost.

Shutting it down before they have an alternative is not cool.

Unsuscribing in 48 hours if no solution is proposed by Spotify

pollopo

So, Spotify team, what do you think is an adequate compensation for the lack of lyrics in your current product?

I ordered it / subscribed especially for using this feature, as no one else was offering it the time i started my subscribtion.

I paid for it - but you are not going to deliver it.

So i think you have to match the prices of the subscriptions to the features that are offered (or not offered).

I think a reduction of 20% would be a fair deal.

 What you you think?

I need lyrics. It's the most important part of my Spotify experience.

I'm gonna cancel if a fix isn't reached in a week. This is BS.

@pollopo your compensation is the removal of not only lyrics, but also the in app notifications.

They said removing the bell improves their product, so of course by improving it they are allowed to remove other features.

This is the Spotify way of doing business.

Yea this is ridiculous...it's been down for a week now and it doesn't take that time to make improvements. .we love in the age of making all those changes before hand as to make it a stable and rdy for migration to live... takes 2 seconds to bring down a server and update...there are no improvements is what I'm saying... we don't bring systems down and work on it until it's finished then give b it back to the public... simply put if this isn't fixed rather soon ima just go back to Pandora and run my own api
