[Desktop] Bring back Lyrics

Allow me to re-edit again, in premise, that thanks to all of you this idea keeps receiving votes, and I am grateful to each of you, and when I expressed this desire as an idea I was a newbie, I owe to the professionality of Marco and Toku, whom I thank again, that I became aware that this idea it’s by no means new, nor even mine but Spotify’s, yet it is properly expressed, and it is shared by enough Community members for it to be still alive, and I agree with Arcanscape that, "We really need the lyrics feature", and I just notice an excellent temporary alternative of “SpotifyLyrics” kindly programmed and provided by Mirth (fr31): https://github.com/fr31/spotifylyrics/releases (via scoobyTdog), it works very well on my Pc 🙂 and I invite you all to try it.

Whilst singing might be fun, I have another approach to lyrics and sound, which is of course not mutually exclusive, and I read the words to see if I like them as I enjoy the melody, if I see myself in the lyrics, if I share the values expressed, and this is easier by having the words at hand.

So please Spotify bring back the Lyrics Feature most elegantly -- as you did with restyling the Community -- when you find a better Lyrics Provider.

Reading and listening might be even better than karaoke, although not as fun 😉

and every member could always do both, even just singing, as a very close person in my family does, and many other people do.

So sad that, years later,  Spotify is still thanking us for our input and rejecting our ideas.  Maybe it's time to ask myself why I pay for a premium membership and don't even get basic features almost all of its competitors offers.  Be the leader that you are Spotify and bring peace and happiness back to your peasants.

I have registered in spotify about 4 years ago and I've not seen so few changes like for the last year.

Here so many themes where people ask about a lot of new features but you do nothing.

I still wait spotify in Ukraine 4 years!!! Is it so hard ? I don't think so.

I do not have the lyrics function even though I am in Mexico and spotify has enabled the feature here but I do not see it, I have re-installed the app but nothing happens, all of my friends and family have the lyrics function enabled. Does anyone know how can I get Spotify to enable mine?

Hey Spotify, 

I really hope you see this and understand that adding the lyrics feature will be so good. I've been using spotify for a while now and I can honestly say the only thing that is missing is the lyrics feature. Being able to sing along with the song you are listening too would be awesome. It is really annoying having to go onto google every time I want to sing along with a song and its really sad to hear that other music streaming platforms have this feature but not SPOTIFY, I feel like it is an injustice to spotify. I really don't want to change because I love spotify and I have all my library collections SO PLEASE SPOTIFY, MAKE THIS HAPPEN..... I beg  :'(        THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

Why is this request taking so long? 4 years since the first post for a feature that already exists in Deezer, for instance.

Funny, looking all those good ideas and requests, and see the progress and new features implemented in the last years ... what is Spotify doing all the time? Was there any single (major) feature implemented? Does Spotify have actually any developers?

Deezer has Lyrics... EVEN YouTube Music has Lyrics now. I will unsubscrise Spotify and move to Deezer or YouTubr Music 💁🏽‍♂️
