[Desktop][Other] Sleep timer for desktop

I noticed recently I can’t use the sleep timer feature on the desktop version of Spotify.

This is pretty inconvenient seeing as 99% of the time I’m not using my phone for Spotify if i'm planning to listen to music while going to sleep. Obviously i don’t know the ins and outs of adding such a feature but surely something so small can’t be hard to implement?

I’m assuming the feature is in the process of being added as I see no point in giving it to mobile users with no intentions of adding it to the desktop version which seems far more practical in my mind.

So... it's been years since this was asked. When are you going to implement that feature outside Android/iOS?

Please, this would make so much sense.

Seriously!, how long does it take to implement such a simple function?

Defintly to long.

Is nobody ready of using the Windows API call ExitWindowsEx?

Everyone keeps asking why Spotify hasn't implemented this idea, requested by users in 2012—people have been clamoring for it for AN ENTIRE DECADE!—and Spotify refuses to add one simple improvement requested by its subscribers. Here's why: They're making money hand-over-fist. They obviously don't care about users or users's requests or it would have been updated in early 2013. Just like Adobe.

Everyone: add up what you've paid for your monthly subscription over the years and post it here. I've paid Spotify $1440 so far. Maybe it's really time for me to recreate my playlists on another platform. This company is only interested in resting on their laurels.

a workaround for the time being...........when using Spotify connect you cant use the "sleep timer" within the app but you can pause the music from the player, seeing this I got the idea to set a timer in the clock app and set function to "stop playing". It has been working for me

Coming up on three years since the original post of this thread, and according to one comment, 11 years since the idea was initially asked for.  Hey, Spotify?  You are ridiculously slow to implement things people actually want.  Stop putting these bulls**t "Canvas" backgrounds on songs, and audiobooks that I have to pay extra for, and actually do your job.  Put in the features.  It's not difficult.  In three years I could have learned ALL the necessary programming from scratch and implemented it myself.  Surely with a team of devs you could get this done.  It's not like they're incredibly busy putting in other features people actually care about.

Get it done.  Please.  For the love of god.  It's not hard.

Please add the sleep timer to desktop. I fell like I think about this everything I play from my laptop at night and finally decided to see where I could contact y'all. Probably one of the most annoying aspects of the app for me. The addition would be greatly appreciated.

This idea has been requested since 2012 by paying customers. I pay monthly for family premium. Recently the rate went up. I’m sadly seriously considering going back to a much less convenient platform at this point, because Spotify is about the money. The joe Rogan issue sealed that for all of us. This is just more evidence.

It's 2023 and I'm still waiting desperately for this feature to be added to the desktoop app. :'(
