[Desktop][Podcasts] Sort by Unplayed/Recently Updated

Currently, the only way to listen to unplayed podcasts on desktop is to open a phone and check the feed there, or check every podcast individually for new content. That's 100% unacceptable, and has been for years.

 

Give us a podcast view that we can sort / filter by unplayed episodes or recent uploads. If you want to be the industry leader in streaming, you can't ignore table-stakes functionality because of "100 kudos" horsesh*t.

Please implement this spotify. Podcasts is essentially unusable for myself and a bunch of people that I've talked to unless this is implemented. Should be a relatively easy sort feature, especially since you already have it implemented on mobile.

I listen to podcasts on Spotify, but y'all make it really hard on desktop. The progress doesn't sync and you can't see what you've played already. Please update this.

I use the desktop app 80% of the time, especially now since I work from home. Sorting podcasts by date updated should be the default, and the fact that it's not even an option on desktop is just ridiculous. Sorting by the date I added it to my library is the most useless thing, as I have to scroll through my own library searching for the podcast I'm looking for. Half the time I just get frustrated and switch to google podcasts.

Hey, at least we get Podcast Videos in Spotify ! 

 

YouTube must be very concerned from that 'A-Z' sorted video platform  😂😂😂

Hello,

I accidentaly submitted the same idea, because I was unable to find this one in the idea list, which is ridiculous!

This fix (let's call it a fix because it is just stupid how podcasts work on the desktop) has to happen now! To have such a difference with podcasts streaming between mobile and desktop version in era of podcasts is just sad.

This is an obvious feature that is needed. Currently you have to actually click into every podcast to see if there is anything new. Please create a feed on desktop also.

Three years I've been posting and voting for this one item. Countless closed threads.

 

I don't think anyone in Spotify actually listens to podcasts - honestly. Otherwise it would become immediately apparent how awful it is that this feature is missing from the Desktop app. Simply incredible.

I literally have to use my phone to find what's new and then go to my client to play that podcast.  Its ridiculous.
